Anybody have neons INSIDE there seven, inside was all caps so we wouldn't get pics of the outside underglow. I want to see some pics of what it would look like.

My Mom's 05' Acura RL has litlle blue LED's in the back where the light is, and in the fron under the dash. Not much light but still nough to make me say "Cool that's nifty" But it is pretty cool, very dim but still very noticable. I am going to be looking into that, it's cool, but not "Ricy", they kinda briong out the luxury in the car. But don't put bright ghey neons in the car.

I see little cars on I-5 with the neon crap on and inside of the car.. funny the CHP always have them pulled over

 

Why even bother??? I mean honestly... do neons make you feel good? Do you think OTHER people think it looks good? The answer is NO. If you're doing it for yourself because YOU like them, then go ahead. I can guarantee you 99% of people out there don't care for them. And those that do, probably have neons too like you. So, if you want to be with the 1% of the population, go ahead...

 

i agree with most of the posts; neons are gay, but i want to disagree because neons include the tubular ones that light up an area, not just the ricy colored ones that are big. once i get the sound system and everything in(the last step of the project), i am planing on setting up a white neon above the subs and amps, for lighting only. I was also thinking about putting one in each bin behind the seats, so that i can see inside them much easier. There are other ways to achieve this, but i found a few really cheap white neons that arent very big at all, but they light up the way i want them to.

i may decide to go with the little halogen tubular bulbs, but thats the way i see it; neons are stupid, but if you use them to light up a small area inside and not to attract attention to your car(undercar, F&F crap) then i think its ok........does that make sense?

 

That makes sense. Using them for functional purposes rather than cosmetics.

 

i got the idea from one of my lamps. its a simple desk lamp that has a plastic slid-on cover with aluminum covering on the inside so that it refelcts the light down. once i mount the subs i was then going to mount a neon over each sub, then make a plastic covering to go over it, so the white light is shown down at the face of the sub. i think it would be really cool to have a white face sub and have a white light shining on it.

I'm planning to mount two white neon tubes under the dash and maybe under the seats. I'm ALWAYS dropping stuff on the floor at night, and it sure would be handy to be able to light up the floor when necessary. Also, it would make working under the dash much easier (ever try to change a fuse at the side of an unlit road in the middle of the night?).

 

A little white neon under the dash that gave a stock look wouldnt be gay, however the blue and green bullshit that kids put on their car looks awful. But for practical purposes, such as those, I dont think they would be gay.

Wow Im glad to see no pics and everybody hating the neons, Thanks that wasn't what this thread is about. Truth is underglowneons are really dumb unless they are on a strictly show car. I have a red 1st gen, all the dash lights are red, red lite faceplate and red neons underneth the dash. Nobody outside the car can see the neons so I don't worry about what anyone else thinks about them. Everyone who has ever rode in my car at night always thinks they look cool. They make it really easy to find things that fall on the ground. I can see my sparco pedels that I paid lot of money for all the time. I hard wired them to my recirculating AC button so it was a pretty trick install and I can push a button to turn them off. I will take some pics at night and post them here so maybe some of the haters here can see they aren't ricey at all unless you all are to close minded to ever think they look cool and make driving the car more enjoyable. Some of you should be a little more clever and come up with something more original then " thats gay" when you are hating on someones car/ideas

 

i dont see anything wrong with under car neon or whatever. Its your hobby. Any way in which you can safetly enjoy your hobby is awesome. To really enjoy dressing up the cars means to have your own style. rock and roll.

 

I agree, although I think neons on cars like these look tacky as hell. I do have a secret fetish for tasteful neons on old american muscle cars and hot rods though.

 

indeed..tasteful...=) But who on god's green earth came up with the idea of mounting outlandish coloured neons in the headliner? or ON the dash..lol do what I do when I drop things...use your cellphone..lmfao OR better yet, do what I ALSO do..buy a small portable flashlight

 

I'm thinking if they match the color of your gauges on your dash and they are for practical purposes then why not? As for a flashlight, well I'm too much of a scatterbrain to not lose one, so I'd rather have something attached to my car.

 

I don't see a problem neither. There are too many people that jump on the hate bandwagon on stuff like this. I willing to bet that half the negative comments on this thread would easily change if more than half the people on this forum actually liked the neon lights.
