Question Need help choosing sub ...any audio experts?

On my CRX i'm running a kicker 210w-4ohm/420w-2ohm. I previously ran a 10" JL-Audio 250w sub that kicked major *** but was stolen. So now i'm debating going with another 10" Infinity or possibly Audiobahn but i've never heard them before. Both of them are allways on sale for cheap. I will make a custom trunk box. I also don't know how insane loud >400w will be ...and how hot the amp will run as well as will it be "noticably" less clean? I don't want distortion.

On my 7 I am thinking of getting rid of my two JL-Audio 8w-6's since I don't want to run the JL 205w amp at 1.5ohms. So that gives me the same choices as above. A single 10" 250w or dual vc 500w 10" sub. I am drooling over the Diamond Audio Hex Mac Daddy but i'm not shure if it's worth the price compared to the others.

Has anyone heard all ove these subs and dealt with these amps?

ok, audiobahn is midlevel stuf. Depending upon which model you go with youd be happy if you arent looking for the greatest thing out there. The Diamond sub is a great sub, ive sold a few but its a ton of loot.

Well I can get both the Infinity and Audiobahn 4-ohm svc 10" subs for $50 but the Diamond Mac Daddy is $150 which is tripples the price and twice the power. I'm not shure how less clean and how much shorter the lifespan is running 2-ohm dvc though. Do I need 500w just cause I can do it? ...or would I be just as happy with 250w?

How much money are you going to spend?
Is your goal SPL or SQ?
What kind of enclosure - sealed, ported, bandpass?

There are a LOT of good subs out there. Most sound the same till you really crank it up, but how often do you do that? And enclosure design and your install will also be a big determinant of how your sub(s) will sound.

That said, here are some good subs to check out:

Adire Audio: http://www.adireaudio.com/

least cash as possible
SQ
small sealed in spare tire well with custom fake floor
I don't usually crank it but the hootchies allways do

For the CRX i'll choose the $50 sub but do I get the Infinity or Audiobahn? I'm not shure if the kicker will be reliable at 2-ohm even though it states it can handle it. Besides I don't want to spend money on the beater.

For the RX7 i'll get the Mac Daddy cause I don't mind spending more for my pleasure car and I think the JL-Audio will be ok at 2-ohms.

Thanks for the links, I really like the XXX sub!

Infinity Kappa Perfect.

Probably the best bang-for-the-buck sub you can get.

10" MTX Thunder 8000 in a Q-Logic sealed box.
Drill & bolt in an eyebolt in the box, before installing the sub. Then CHAIN & LOCK that **** to the frame in yer trunk.
Additional option: add pull wire N/C switch to box attached to stick of dynomite with nails rubberbanded around it. => Thug pulls your box, thug becomes hamburger meat.

SpeedKing gave you links to three of the best companys out there. Im putting in one Adire Shiva ported in my FD this spring with a custom box, paired with an amp from eD - it should be just right. But you cant go wrong with Infinity Kappa, just dont overpower it.

Me personally, I like Kicker's, JL's and Image Dynamics. Image Dynamics being my top choice. You can find them at www.mmxpress.com . You can also got to www.pricegrabber.com and find the best deals. I found Kickers Comp 10" for $40 there.

I would go with audiobahn. I have 2 10" DUB series and I love them. They are a little stiff but after you run them for a while they are the best thing ever. and I have the audiobahn AT6004T amp. I think I am pushing about 2,400 watts in all!!!(But I have The competition subs and they really thump!!!!) and mine are duel voice coil. so give audiobahn a chance. I also have 4 sony xplod speakers and a sony cd deck. And i love my system!!!!!
