Talking My fix for the FDs crappy light output

hi,
im currently converting my FDs bumperlights into bi-xenon projectors
after i installed my REamemiya sleek kit, the car became downright dangerous to driver at night
i allready have HID lights as fogs but those only work as highbeams
so i didnt have any lowbeam to speak of,
not realy fun to drive with
so here is what i did, installed R-motorbike BI-projectors (E-marked) into the bumperlight turnsignal
the turnsignal i just moved to the park light (cut of and moved the light socket)
i didnt need that anyway since the REkit has park built in

so, here are some pics, tell me what you think

ps. will post nighttime lightoutput pics later

His turn signal would be the inner bulb (the orange one). Pretty cool idea, might have been easier to just purchase the feed hid bumper lights if money was no object.

the feeds suck ***, they as all other crap kits are just foglights, these are Bi-projectors with E-marking (sae/dot) real driving lights

i have a pic, its not 100% adjusted at the moment+ineed to polish the plastic alittle,
but its not that bad to drive with, a biiiig improvement over stock

ps, on the highbeam shot, the lights where to close to the middle and adjusted alittle to much down.
perfect cutof (the little amount of glare is from the chrome on the stock lights

and yes, the signal lights are now moved to the parklight position, works perfekt with osram diadem bulbs

the housings will not melt, as long as you use HID bulbs, they give of less then half the heat that normal bulbs do,even the highpower 55whids arent warm, even after 30mins of them staying on the projector asembly is stil cool enough that i can toutch it without getting burnt

ps, if there are some typos here, its because english is my second language, and im writing while intocsicated

you could change the inner light to a double filament socket so you can still use it for parking and signal

thats not a bad idea, buuuuut that leaves one problem, colour
i must have a amber singnal , and amber park is not allowed in europe
thats a us only thing
i dont need the park function, the reamemiya sleeks take care of that

i will post more pics later, my setup is currently: bumper bixenon, and 4x55w hid in the re sleeks
pluss hid highbeams as foglights, so if i want to i can have 4x35whids and 4x55w hids on at the same time.
its like turning on the sun

no tri xeon is basicaly a standard hid bulb in a bi xeon houseing which is a project that has a actuator flap to lower for highbeams. SInce normaly they use bixeon bulbs with this application to dim the light when you put on high beams, if used with just a standard hid bulb you gain what is call tri xeon light output is remarkable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kay8X...layer_embedded.
just thats with the two standard projectors im goning to be useing 4 bmw e34 projectors with a custom bracket and bucket to retain a more sleepy eyed look i will post pics when finished.

uhm, no
thats regular bi-xenon, like mine, they have a motorised shield that moves out of the way for highbeam.
only thing im worried about on theese applications is the durability of the shiels actuator, not that it matters, the REamemiyas take care of the highbeams

That is the coolest looking light setup I've ever seen! I personally think this looks much cleaner than the Feed type lights. Nice work, I had a similar idea to this, but I might just copy this! haha

Sorry to bump an old thread, but do you have part numbers for the projectors or measurements? I'm thinking of doing two of these and adding LED's around the bottom for the turn/parks.

Hmm, interesting idea and I am digging the look. Which size did you use for the projector? I currently dont have my car with me so I would like to order them up =).
