How do you take the moon roof out of the track?

Simple but important

 

do you mean remove the sunroof panel and full track system? Or just add a glass roof to the track?

 

I have what I call a moon roof, which the whole piece is metal not glass, but i have the moon roof open all the way on the car, which means its slid back towards the back glass of the car, and this is its normal function.

What I wanted to know is with the moon roof in this position how do you take just the metal moon roof out of the tracks? I dont want to take the actual tracks off I just wanted to slide the moon roof out. Or maybe it does not even come out

If its a 2nd gen, there should be a few 10mm bolt holding it in place. I think 6. three on each side. Then just lift it off. But you have to remove the panel (cloth cardboard thing) to get to the bolts. Just pull it out. It's held in by a few clips.

the Mazda dealer wants 157.00 for on e but i dont want to spend that kind of money for rubber
