Do they fit without major modification to the interior? Do they rub excessively on the doors or some other part of the interior? What type body would they fit (ex. I'm 6' 2" with 36" waist)?

I think a lot of us are on the taller/larger side which is causing us a hard time finding a good seat that doesn't require cutting up trim pieces or modifying the floor pan or both.

Also, if you could provide pics that would be awesome too, they are in an FD right?

I actually bought my car with the seats already fitted, but I believe no modifications are required. You can buy a direct bolt-in seat bracket for the FD for these seats
Mazda RX-7 93-95 Seat Brackets - Corbeau Racing Seats which are fitted to my car.

When reclining, the outside bolster does catch the headliner (and I have an R1 FD). Roughly near the B-pillar? I'll get more details, see below:

Agreed! I'm 6'4 with 34" waist and I fit into the seat itself just fine, but when I get my car I'll be doing some adjustments and will post much more detail

I may have a pic somewhere, but currently my car is at the shop. I bought it as a non-runner and am having the engine rebuilt, should hopefully have it back in a couple weeks. I'll play around with it and go on a few drives to test, then I post up some detailed info!

That looks great!
Which Sparco Evo are these? EVO? EVO II? EVOII-US? EVO III?

It looks like you managed to fit them in without having to remove OEM door panels and the tranny tunnel cover. Do the seats rub anywhere?

^ Well, I have the Sparco EVOs in my FD (see my earlier posts in this thread) with the Bride Low Max rails. They fit with some trimming so you can keep the OEM door panels and the tranny tunnel cover.

I trimmed the upper bolsters on both seats so they don't rub against the OEM door panels. Used a dremel for this and trimmed back until the seats fit. Did the same on the lower left of the passenger side door so it clears the tranny tunnel. Trimming is pretty easy to do so don't let this get in the way of using the Sparcos as they are great seats.

I also trimmed out notches on the bottom of each seat so they sit lower on the Bride rails. I posted up pics of this as well. Finally, I too remove the seat cushion when I track the car. The result is a really good driving position as opposed to having my head slammed into the headliner. I am going to have a thin cushion made up for track days as a little padding would be nice.

Another great option os the Sparco sprint seats. I bought a pair of them and they fit without modifications and are pretty comfortable!

Hey guys, I have a set of edirb 023 seats (made by bride) that I had in my 370z and I want to put them into the rx7 wondering what seat rails ppl use for bride seats on here? I would like them to be able to slide as well not just be permanently mounted in one position. Thanks! http://bride-jp.com/en/seat/edirb/023_red.html I just noticed on this link I can use either LR or RO rails which one would you guys recommend? 5' 11" base fd no sunroof.

Based on what others have posted I believe you will want the LR rails. I believe the RO rails will put the seat closer to the door panel. Once you have them mounted or if you already do, please post a picture as I'm looking at getting these or the strada 2 which a the same dimensions.

They are very comfortable and very low (because the bottom is basically vinyl straps under the seat pad; at least they are on the Sprint Large), but the hold isn't very good. They're also cheap. Three out of four isn't bad.

If you're big, the Sprint Large will fit you, but will not fit the FD without modification.

Seeing as how the FC is an entirely different car....no. But on the upside, most aftermarket seats will fit the FC. The FD has a much tighter interior.

Looking for a little input on a set of corbeau uk seats.

They are the https://www.corbeau-seats.com/produc...ed/le-pro.html

LE-Pro or LE-Standard.

I'm 6'3" and about 220. The waist seems irrelevant(35-36). When I was 195lbs my hip bones were and still are the issue with seats. I can fab up a bracket no problem. Question is, would the seat fit in the car and would I fit in the seat.

I sat in about 20 seats at a shop about 90 min away and a couple were pretty close but most if not all had high leg bolsters. I want a seat like the cobra evolution or these extige seats that have good torso support but low leg support.

And yes, I have a sunroof. :-/ Helmets are not comfortable or safe. Pretty sure a rollover would compress my spine badly with a helmet on.

Sounds like you and I have the same exact build. Although what also makes a difference is if most of your height is in your legs or your torso. I have a fairly short torso compared to my legs but with my sunroof I still have issues fitting with a helmet. I got an OMP HTE-R 400 and it fits the car pretty well and it's snug on me but isn't painful or anything. Adam Griffith modified my seat rail and the seat is angled back pretty far but I fit with a helmet finally. I'm still planning on making my own seat out of aluminum to work with the stock rails and sink down between the rails like the stock seat, because I sit lowest in the stock seat with no foam in the bottom.

That's a nice seat but a little off the "street" goal I have in mind. I'm looking for one with much lower leg bolsters. If I can get a day off I'm going to head up to the shop and see what fits.

Oh yeah I get that. The bolsters are pretty high on the sides. Although it's not as difficult as I thought it would be to get in and out. Sometimes I don't even remove the steering wheel.

Sparco R100's fit without modification.

Very light touching on the door cards, not much though.

Used Planted seat brackets and Sparco rails.

Yeah, they "kind of" fit, see attachement. They rub on the ceiling quite a bit when you fold them forward, but otherwise its ok. You need low seat rails though. In my car they where fitted with pretty high recaro seat rails and it was no fun getting in and out. I think they where SR4, but I'm not sure.

Hmm. Wonder who makes the lowest setup for the FD?

Just want to say, I am selling a pair of Atomic Rex FD seat mounts. They are in decent condition with a few knicks on the powdercoating (how I received them from JAUTO) but otherwise unused.

Per earlier in this thread, I have used them to successfully mount a Cobra Suzuka Pro GT in the drivers position to achieve (what I believe to be) the maximum amount of headroom available.

Finally Got one!!

OMP!! With a set of Garage Star Rails on the way. OMP Feels great but i don't have much interior left in the car so I can't really say exactly how well it would fit with carpet/door panels, trans tunnel cover etc.
