Herblenny, wait no more...(Evot 23, thanks for your eternal patience as well!)

Here are some pics (hosting courtesy of HedgeHog...thanks!)

Quick note, sorry I didn't get a chance to wash the car first. And I know, the rims gotta go. That's in the works...

That, and as ironic as it is, the glare was so strong off the windshield that the decals don't really show that well! lol...what can you do?!
Lastly, these are only 4 pics to serve the purpose of pics for this thread. I'm gonna be posting more pics of my car (from diff angles, and interior, engine bay, etc) later on a diff thread in the interior/exterior/audio section as promised. Just need 2 weeks cuz I'm almost finished w/ my car (gotta be done in 2 weeks either way for Rotary Revolution so...)

~Ramy

Front shot...

A diff angle...

Yet another angle...

Side shot showing door clearance...

I should have known with all the **** you talked your car it would have a big *** getto wing and some $100 Konig rims.

Your good at building hype, but your like that tease we all knew in high school...........NO follow through!

Rx7pimpin, Imma keep this short and simple.

- Don't want/care for your approval. I'm only in search of comments that are intelligent.

- Grow up. Cost isn't everything. And besides, every think that just maybe I didn't have the cash for something better? (not yet at least).

- Being considerate of others is one of those things that should come with age. Catch up, cuz you're way behind.

- The big *** wing is my taste. It's CF, which matches the look I'm goin for w/ my car, and it's fully functional. I hit 120+ every single time I get in my FD. And the downforce the spoiler gives me is nothing short of absolutely necessary.

- If you read any of several other posts I have in other threads, you'd know I have SSR GT3s on the way. But don't think that's to please you or meet your "standards..." cuz I couldn't care less. My car is about ME and MY taste, not yours. Don't be so egotistical to think I'll take your desires and judgement into consideration

- This thread is about the DOORS. I'm sure it's hard to keep that child's attention span of yours on a single focal topic, but try w/ us here. Go do what you do best, and find fault in the doors. At least then, your rantings and blabber will be relavant to the thread.

I don't like it one bit BUT it is your car so it's up to you. I thought it was going to come out looking like Crashunit's FD or something... show quality.

About the doors, they aren't bad. Looks to be as vertical as you can get without crazy modification. Do we have to wait a year to get a vid of you opening them???

Fumanchu, I can deal w/ that. I'd like to know why specifically you don't like it (I actually do entertain constructive criticism, believe it or not). That, and what specifically do you mean by show quality?

Show quality doesn't mean things are molded. Molding IMO is stupid, unless you are BANK. W/ the new rims and springs, the car is gonna ride even lower, and this thing is practically dragging on the floor as it is. I'm not gonna have parts of the car cut off just to be repaired when some stupid pothole messes up my bumper or tears at my skirts. Not only do I think that's something I'm def. not comfortable w/ (cutting parts off the car), the labor and cost of such repair is simply prohibitive. I'm not a baller...I don't have that kinda cash.

I guess this is a good time to point out the car is show-QUALITY. It's not a show CAR. Difference? My car is NOT a trailer bitch. She sees the road, and often (at least once a week). So practicality must come into play. I can't do things that require the car to remain untouched and unmoved to be correct lol

Show quality IMO comes from precision fitting the kit, so everything lines up perfectly. I have a slight issue w/ the front bumper right now cuz I hit a real bad pothole the other day, but other than that, everything is a very very tight fit. The entire car was repainted, w/ a six layer special paint that gives it an absolute mirror shine. I just haven't washed her yet (before taking the pic). The hood and spoiler are CF w/ custom black paint touches here and there (you'll see them better in the other pics). Every peice of CF (including the canards) has at least 8 layers of clearcoat on it. The doors speak for themselves. There's a lot of tiny details you just can't and don't pick up in the pics...and the interior and engine bay you'll see in a few weeks. So in short, I think there's nothing on this car that's anywhere near short of show quality.

It's cool if you still disagree w/ me, but hey, RX7Trix, Pettit Racing, RotaryExtreme, and GothamRacing all seem to think it's definetly show car quality. In my book, that definetly counts some.

Oh and yea, just like you said, this is pretty much as vertical as they will get w/o *major* modifications. As for the video, lemme see what I can do.

I appreciate the work put into the paint and body of the car. I know all that stuff is a bitch. Molding and extensive bodywork isn't always a must for shows. Thats why there are different classes in shows... you would definately be "mild" for the lack of molding. There is nothing wrong with that, my first show car was in the mild class. It just depends on where you want to compete.

I agree, it will look 100% better with new rims and suspension.

I have seen so many cars in shows it's not even funny. I was in that scene since I was 15. To me, it just doesn't look like a show winner. That is just me. I know what the judges look for. Im sorry if I came across as saying your car was a piece of **** because it isn't. Like I said, your exterior is flawless.

Can't wait to see the pics with some new rims and everything done. Don't keep me hanging another 6 months

Fumanchu, your point is very well taken. Lemme give ya another example. Another car that was at Mr. Spoiler's (the shop that did my car) had over $20K invested in ONLY the exterior body work (im not talking paint). He had the ENTIRE car molded. It looked like a single huge peice of sheet metal (in a nice way lol) I mean absolutely no edges or lines or anything. WOW. But I just can't compete w/ that kinda level. I'm more than happy being show quality, even if it means it won't be the show winner. Besides, w/ the way I drive her, she won't stay even show quality for long. Only a month later and I already hit that damn pothole, and shredded a custom undertray to peices (it flew off at 140mph) =(

And yea honestly, I don't think you came across as saying it's crap, but I mighta taken it that way since I still remembered out little bitching session 2 weeks back over lack of pics lol. My bad =)

Like I said tho, she's GOT to be finished in time for Rotary Revolution. So pics will either be available immediately before or immediately after RR. That'll include the rims and some interior goodies hehe. Sorry for the wait. Just don't forget I myself have been waiting too!!

I guess we all can't be as smart as you and your decision to hype this car for months and then put pics of that car up.

- Grow up. Cost isn't everything. And besides, every think that just maybe I didn't have the cash for something better? (not yet at least).

Cost may not be everything, but taste is. You get what you pay for!

- Being considerate of others is one of those things that should come with age. Catch up, cuz you're way behind.

Just because I had a negitive comment about your car, does not mean that I am a young kid.

The wing is ugly IMO and I will go out on a limb and say that 95% of everyone on this forum would agree. 120+ everytime you get in you FD, well that just tells me your maturity level. You better watch out on those 80 mph rated tires.

Ramy, My comments are my opinion and my opinion is that your car looks like ****. Vertical doors or not. As you stated this thread was about the doors and you started your barage of how your brand was better than the original ones posted at the begining of this thread.

If it wasn't for 6 months your talking about how bad *** this car was going to look, I would not have had any comment at all. I only made the comments after all the hell you gave the original thread. I expected to open these pics and see some bad *** RX-7. I am probably not the only one to be disappointed in the pics.

Have a nice day

Rx7pimpin, you're right, that is your opinion. I just didn't appreciate your attitude or the tease comment.

BTW...for the x-millionth time, this is not MY kit. It's someone else's... VerticalDoors.com to be specific. I got no affiliation with them. Bill (Deftspyder) is an actually part of importprecision.com, the other vertical door kit. So the VLS kit is actually HIS kit. Don't get me caught up in that mix lol

I'm not saying I didn't do it, but I don't recall this being about me hyping up my car to be THE car. I think my focus was (or I tried to make it) the asthetic aspect of the doors opening as vertically as possible, and why I chose the VD kit over the VLS kit. Also, the side shot showed that there's def. ample clearance w/ the doors open. Getting in and out isn't a problem.

I know people have diff tastes. But I gotta say, IMO, I think my car is badass. I love it, and I'd do it all over again. Because hey, she's a reflection of my taste. To each his own, right?

Not to try and change your mind hehe, but the doors up give the car a totally diff look. Check out this pic of the car, and if you still don't like that, I totally respect that. But now you know that we have very different tastes

Actually, that's regular silver mesh that I thought looked nice, but I had it painted along w/ the bumper. I think leaving it silver would have looked to tacky.

For those of you who noticed, I resized the pics so they can actually fit in the webrowser window frame (so no more scrolling left and right). My thanks goes out again to HedgeHog, who's being oh so patient and helpful w/ me as he uploads and hosts my pics.

I think the car looks great. The wing isn't my personal taste, but to each his own. With the style of bodykit...it doesn't look that bad. I also like the look of the doors on your FD. Mine is going to remain fairly stock as far as body goes...so it wouldn't be something I would be intersted in. But I think it adds to your car. As far as the rims go, hey...they really aren't that bad looking. Are they the best rims to put on that car? No. Is it really that big of a deal to other people what rims you put on your car though? I think its pretty stupid when you post a picture of your car online, and the first responses you get are from people critizing you for not spending enough money on your rims. I just wish I could have a picture put up of half of those peoples cars/rims that they personally own. I guarantee half the people who come on here and talk **** about your rims being cheap either own cheap *** rims themselves, or still have the stockers on. Don't sweat it man, its your car...not theirs. I think it looks great, I'm sure it will be that much better when the SSR's get put on. I'll be heading up to Rotary Revolution this year...look forward to seeing your car in person there.

Later,
Tim

Tim,

Thanks for the kind words. It's good to hear support every now and then, even if it's just a little haha.

I'll admit to ya, the wing itself looks tacky. Almost ricer. But I think it flows very nicely w/ the car. As a whole, I like it. And from certain angles, I think it looks beast.

That's actually the problem w/ the rims. I like the rims *themselves* a lot. I actually think they look better than the Volk AV3s (which they're an imitation of). And I got the rims based on how they looked, and not how they looked ON MY CAR. Now, I'm sooo happy I didn't spring for the Volk AV3s (cause I couldn't afford them lol), cuz they'd still not look the best, even though they would be very respectable rims.

I've always liked the GT3s, but I've had cash flow problems, and issues dealing w/ tire size and offsets the rims come in. But hopefully that's all taken care of.

And you're right, a lot of people do talk lots of smack from behind their computer screen. That's the thing about the internet: no one knows who's behind the other screen. But it's all good, I don't pay much attention to fickle remarks. Constructive criticism tho, I'll def. take.

Glad to hear you're gonna make it out to RR. My car is gonna be parked at the RX7Trix and GothamRacing booth. Definetly stop by. I'm lookin forward to meeting ya

~Ramy

Funny you should ask...lol. Phil is my room mate. We've been friends for about a year now, and I just moved into his place to save us each a ton of money. (more mod money!!) Phil mentioned that he had met you in DC, we'll both be on the lookout for you when we get up to Indy.

Oh and Phil did the 99 spec conversion on my tail lights too. They still look incredible!

I'll see both of ya soon

FDNewbie: FINALLY!!! Thanks for hosting HedgeHog.

Car looks good, good thing I can see those decals LOL. I see what you mean about he doors, compared to importprecisions they are more vertical. Side shot looks real good.

What the hell is up with all the negative comments? I don't recall FDNewbie "hyping" up his car to be some mega show killer.

Just be glad he's posting pics and trying to give us a chance to compare the two kits....good for nothings.

Oh, don't make us wait so long for the vid.

Thanks for the posts, looking forward to seeing more of the car.

Nice!! I like it.. And I'm glad, I'm getting those side skirts.. Ramy.. thanks for recommending the guys out in Cali..

Also, comment about the wheels..

They aren't bad.. and GT3's will definitely make it better..

This is why I think going to place like RR is such a great thing.. Meeting others in person, instead of talking over the forum..

Also, we all know that it takes lots and lots of hours to get our car to look and run the way we want it.. If those who complain about minor things such as wheels, they must don't know much about 7's..
