Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 Double DIN DVD in FD?
Has anyone tried a Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 in their FD? Crutchfield site says it doesn't fit. Just curious as I really like the fact that it's a touchscreen and fits in the Double DIN nice and clean.

I disagree .... the AC panel has no horizontal bar in it. The bar is located in the dash behind the AC panel. You would have to reinvent that piece or buy a new dash.

good point! sorry about the misinformation.
However, if you do decide to go single DIN again, when you install a new aftermarket stereo, shouldnt the stereo cage just clip into the sides of the dash, therefore creating an artificial seperation?

Oh, you'll need a custom bezel too, since double din is just slightly smaller than our two-din openings.

I also think the unit comes with a wide bezel in the box, but I have no idea if it actually fits the FD. I'm sure I could make one if it didn't fit.
Mazdabation, I haven't really looked at price yet. I saw them at Crutchfield for 1.4, but also saw them on ebay. I think I would pay extra at Crutchfield or the like. CF gives you some Sirius radio stuff free and maybe some wiring etc...plus a little more piece of mind in being able to return etc.
As long as the unit basically fits (with removing of some structure) I think it's a pretty cool deck...though I'll look for one in the store before buying just to be sure the screen is ok.

I'm considering selling my 2din DVD/CD/AM/FM/Navigation/MP3 player by Rosen. I would sell it with the custom molded AC panel, as long as long as the buyer trades me their stock panel (94 or 95). Here is a pic, if anyone is interested. It is very stock looking.
