Please update us on your impressions in a couple of months. I'm wondering how the hood holds up to the heat of the engine compartment.
Also, any complaints so far? May I ask who you aquired it from, as I've been looking for to reinforce my considerations of buying a VIS KS hood.

I bought one of the vis ks hoods off of ebay, they were somewhat on backorder and it took a month to get it. they guy said he has them in stock now. The hood was packed awesome and I was very happy with that part. the initial impression of the hood when I took it out of the box was good. It looked better than I thought it would, there are a few minor spots where the weve is not perfect, but for the money what do you expect. the finish is very nice and glossy and looks like a thick coat of resin and clear coat. It has a deep look to it. The hood came with mesh installed but it looks pretty nasty painted silver, I am going to remove it and paint it black. i will take some more detailed pics this weekend when i get the hood on the car, I just test fitted it a bit but did not bolt it down. really for the money its a nice hood so far, just have to see what it fits like when its done. I had an early run of the mazdaspeed copy hoods from taiwan or something and this hood seems a lot better quality. all the edges are nice and smooth.
Initial pics.
not sure I like the look of the hood yet, its hard to tell. I took the pics in direct sunlight so it looks kinda funny.

i'm sure there is SOME weight saving from stock to c/f, but not much, as i lifted them both, and they seem pretty close in weight.
Yes the hood IS a VIS hood, it is a VIS OEM replacement I purchased from VIS directly via my shop, www.vision-performance.com, at cost plus $30 for shipping. So my total was about $350 shipped. The reason the shipping was so cheap was because we ordered 11 hoods, so we split the shipping between us. (Also we got discounted from VIS)
The fitment was excellent, with the exception of the passenger side being slightly slightly lower...but fixed easily by raising the little rubber stopper a little.
Yes no hood pins... it fits so snug, it's as if it is the OEM hood. I've driven it freeway and street....no vibrations or anything. Although i do here more noise from the engine compartment (due to the fact that i don't have the OEM sound deadining stuff).
As for the "windscreen" washers...i'm not too sure what you mean...but those were the original washers from the original hood i just slapped on

Long term feedback?
Just about to buy a KS vented VIS, so I'd LOVE to hear some long term feedback. Any deficiencies in the design, fit, et. beside described above? Also, any leads on price/availability would be appreciated?

well if the quality of these VIS hoods is anything like the VIS hoods made for hondas i would say they will last for a long time just as long as u stay clear from in flying rocking to the road. I have a VIS CF hood on my ITR and a small rock hit it on the freeway which cracked the clearcoat resin. the cracks have not gotten longer but they are visible if you look real close.

I'm glad someone broke up what seem to be turning into a VIS Lovefest. Could you please elaborate with specifics about the poor quality. Is this from personal experience or from a hood you may have seen or heard about on someone else's car? Your inputs will be very much appreciated.
