I ordered a set from Salva last week as they should be the star of my Tan>Black conversion. Carpet should be showing up from RHDJapan by the end of the week.
Once I get the swap done - I'll report back on the quality of the seats - but I am expecting them to be top notch.

Black exterior, brand new black carpet, and since it's a 94 - the lack bits here and there to round out the conversion.
I also have a Spirit-R Shift ****, Boot & eBrake installed and hopefully a Spirit-R Wheel sooner or later (but that's another story).
I'm hoping the stitching doesn't make everything look to 'matchy-matchy'. But since I told myself I definitely WASN'T spending the $$$$ on Spirit-R seats, this would be a cool fallback position.

That is going to look really nice I think. I read your thread on the Spirit-R wheel saga and glad it has a somewhat happy ending. I have a Spirit-R "style" wheel installed. It doesn't have the red stitching but I did source the wheel and airbag for under $150 through eBay and a Miata forum and the condition is fantastic. My advantage is the wheel has cruise control on it. Just a thought:
As for the wheel saga, yeah... It's a nice little 'welcome back' to the RX-7 community I suppose. However, I should say - I've had many more *good* dealings with people and I know this one PITA doesn't define this current generation of RX-7 owners.
As for cruise - I think I will be able to retain it as well. However, are you saying the standard Mazda Nardi wheel has some advantage over the Spirit-R in terms of mounting/retaining the cruise? If so, I'd love to hear it...
Even if not, I would love to hear any tips/advice you have on the subject. I figured it would be a matter of dremeling little by little in order to mount it as desired - then running the wires. Another member sent me some pictures of his install on a 99 Wheel and it looks pretty straightforward.

Curiously, I didn't even know the wheel I was bidding on had cruise control. It came as a pleasant surprise. Also, I paid about $80 for the wheel and unlike the one you were sold, it was in mint condition. No wear at all. Bought the airbag from a Miata forum person and then retrofitted the Mazda logo in the middle so it has a 3D look to it versus the flat stenciled piece.
I went the route of getting a Miata/Protege wheel because of the cost of the Spirit-R ones. Same wheel as mine expect they have the red stitching on the leather. For what I paid, you cold have it rewrapped with red stitching and pay way less than the Spirit-R price. Got the idea from driving my wife's Miata that has a Nardi wheel in it. Went back and compared this to the RX7 wheel and they re exactly the same.
Food for thought.
