Interior Seat Covers...

Wanted to post up some pics of my new seat covers. I purchased these from Salva (Noel) on the forum. I give him and the covers two very enthusiastic thumbs up

You may have followed my three rotor conversion thread. It's finally coming to an end so I can now turn my attention to the aesthetic components of the car and my seat covers screamed at me to fix/replace them. They were stock and in okay shape but 15 years of use had taken its toll on them. The leather was cracking and they were fading so I wanted a better solution.

I met Noel down in Orlando hanging out at Kilo Racing. Noel's family is in the leather seat upholstery business in Europe so we started a dialogue on recovering my seats. I wanted to keep them stock looking but also wanted to add a little bling to them as well to make them stand out. To accomplish this look, we decided on using perforated leather for the insets and on using a contrasting (black) stitching on the outside seat seams as well as black OEM seatbelt holders. Finally, I had them embroider "Mazda" on the headrests.

The result is simply fantastic. The leather (the backs are also leather instead of the fake OEM stuff) is of the highest quality and it is much softer than the OEM ones. The craftsmanship is superb and all the details are done correctly, including pockets being included on the backs of each seat. I am a picky guy and I am very impressed. Noel installed them for me and did a great job. It's a pleasure hopping into the car now as the seats are very comfortable and I once again have that new car smell

Finally, the cost was also very reasonable and on par with what you would pay for lesser quality seat covers. I don't know I can mention the price here on the forum so pm Salva for the details.

Pics. Note these have been on the car for just a few days and they leather will tighten up as they are exposed to the sun and warmth. I like them as they are anyway!

I've asked Noel to post up some install pics as well.

The above pic is more yellow than the covers actually are due to the camera flash

Hello David, I'm glad too hear you like them. Thank you for the exposure. As for anyone intrested in doing their own install the process is pretty straight forward with the right tools and some patience, here are some pics of the actual installation of David's seats.

Removal;

Again, it's pretty straight forward with just a little patience and care. if anyone is intrested I can send them more detailed instructions.

Thanks again David and enjoy!

Wow, they really look great! I love the richer look of the leather, as well as the stitching. Would you be willing to do door panels?

Initially I wasn't sure about the color but I love it in person. It is a bit darker and richer the stock seats. Much softer though.

Thanks BlueMetallic,. I don't really do door panels and shipping them overseas to be done at my inlaws may be a little too expensive(but possible).

New seat covers look amazing David. Much better than the tired leather that was on your seats when I drove it. Congrats again on getting things 99.999999% done on the car (post up pics with the Shrouds...).

I wouldn't do that to you. If you were in another state, that would be a different story!

So these are ready to sell then since I've bought the seat covers from leatherseats.com and although the quality looked great...the seams on on while I was installing them began to unravel.

I'm interested in this but what can be done about the seat belt guide? Mine's cracked and faded.

How about covers made from alcantara or cloth like the stock R1 seats.
