Interior Paint Gen2
Has anyone here painted their interior parts on their FC?
(By that i mean dash center console etc) I was reading a write up i found on here earlier on how to do it, however anyone who owns an FC will agree that the plastic is pretty brittle and im afraid if i remove parts to paint the inter much of it will break...
Anyone have any thoughts...

Painting the interior
Painting the interior takes time and patience.
I did mine in about a week. Although the results may vary. All the plastic pieces are easy to paint just make sure there clean. They snap right out. I used krylon spray paint, my ideas out go my wallet sometimes. But this stuff works pretty good, on runs or anything like that.
Also think about this, I did mine about a month ago and the rocker panels are already scuffed up, the black paint scratched off and now you can see the old red stuff. The solution is to buy grey ones from somewhere. All the rest of the pieces look great. Mainly because no one ever messes around back there.
I stopped at taking out the dash and my doors are still the same. I'm hoping to replace them with gray GXL door panels so I can have power stuff.
The hardest part about changing the color is getting a matching carpet set.
Some of the other plastic pieces like the clock trim can be purchased from eBay for about $20. Use this in thier search box... 86 rx7 -illegal -video -magazine -holder -video -keychain -chain -alarm -hid -bulb -wheels -muffler -intake -rims -watch -shirt ...this will get you through most of the crap that’s out there for the RX-7.
Just change the year number to match.
Changing your dash will be a whole lot easier than trying to paint it. I'm still looking for mine. Make sure to make a weekly trip to the salvage yard to make sure that your parts aren't there.
I'll try to post some pics tonight.
