Interior Change

Okay am planning on getting some aftermarket seats (not sure which brand as of yet) but thats not what concerns me. I really wanna change my Tan interior to Black, and I am having a hard time on finding some things in black. So I just wanted to know if there was some easy way about changing the door panel, carpet and such.

Where can you buy stock seats from other then a dealership anyway? There's a CYM r1 around here that I'm looking at, but the seats look pretty damn crappy. Can't live with a car that looks good besides worn seats. :-\

Oh I was going to get some BRIDE seats cause there is a car shop that want to be a "minor" sponser, whatever the crap that means. I really dont know.

But this is what is important now, i read somewhere that you can paint plastic, the plastic is still good no cracks or anything. you think i could just paint the doors black? I still would need to find some type of carpet, any ideas.

yes you can paint plastic.
You can also paint the dash. I went to this workshop who does dashboard reconditioning and he said that he can paint the door trims, dash's vinyl can be ripped and replaced by another vinyl. But I'm not sure about the rest of the vinyl that surrounds the car (e.g. A-pillar, rear quater panel interior trim, etc). Might be better off retrim it I guess...but it'll be costly

Can you just go to an automotive upholstery shop and get your tan stuff re-wrapped it with black leather or something?

"minor" sponsor means partial sponsorship. If you want partial sponsorship my friend is looking for cars and he can pretty much can get you EVERYTHING. EMail him at c2autospl@yahoo.com. He deals directly with Bride as well since he's "buddies" with bride usa's president.

i haven't had any bad luck with repainting a dash, and i have repainted more than one for several cars, along with pillers ect. and making my own door pannels and reupholstery, but even if you are considering doing it yourself the right supplies wont run cheap. and the fabric for a stock look is outrageous like 30-60 a yard, and you have to know how to use a sewing machine with some profiencey

i just painted my interior and layed my own carpet

use SEM viny, leather, and plastic paint and prep.

keep in mind that paint doesnt stick all that well on the plastics, so use a thick coat of clearcoat to make sure it doesnt easily scratch

for the headliner and door panels, the paint sticks very well... i tried scratching it off with my fingernails and it stays on there pretty well. and when the doors are closed you cant even tell the difference that the doors are painted compared to the dash. and the plastics with the clearcoat doesnt look too shiney as long as you keep everything armoralled

jut to keep in mind, i replaced the carpet and made the doors black and everything costed me less than 150 bucks

i bought everything from www.yourinteriortrim.com ill try to see if i can clean things up inside my car and take pictures. taking apart, painting and putting everything together took me a whole weekend.

why not try paint the black bits to silver?
that way you'll get a nice blend of tan and silver which would look IMO...

I just spent $600 to do both seats with tan perforated centers and black trim. $95 for the head liner, and $150 for the entire back in carpet. I removed those stupid storage bins.

Or I spent the equivalent of a couple of car payments.
