Found front door speakers for non-bose FD's
Polk Audio db650 Coaxial 6 1/2 inch
Available at Circuit City ($120) or online ($80 shipped)
Installed them yesterday with no drilling or modification. I have a 94 with out the bose system. Sorry no pics.
They come with a sticky foam ring you apply to the back of the speaker. I ran extra wire from the stock harness to the speaker. These speakers come with the three hole pattern. I screwed one hole into the top stock mounting hole on the factory enclosure and put the other two into the larger holes inboard of the stock holes at a slight angle and all grabbed and pulled flush. Door panel installed with no probplem.
The specs are as follows:
60 watts RMS
40Hz- 22kHz
4 ohms
Mounting depth from back of speaker 1 31/32 inches
The speakers do not come with any wiring or clips only mounting hardware which I used the screws from.
The foam ring helps as the magnet just touches the back of the enclosure.
They are definitely a step up from stock.

I just picked up the db 651's 6 1/2 inch coaxial as well from Fry's. I am currently trying to install these speakers onto my 94 Civic Hatchback, but I am experiencing some difficulty. I see that the mounting points on the speakers do not line up with the stock holes that have already been threaded for the stock speakers. I installed the rear 5 1/4 with no problem, and everything alinging properly. The fronts though, I think may require some drilling into the door frame. I have done this before on my old civic as well, with some infinity reference speakers.
I just bought some self tapping screws to make this happen, but I dont really want to drill into the door. Is there any way I can go about this without doing so?
I am also aware that this is an almost 2 year thread, but since I am a new member, I am prohibited from starting a thread. So hopefully with this post, I can get some feedback. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Nice, they sound pretty good for entry level speakers. Unfortunately though, upon drilling the new holes for the speakers, I accidently made a small tear on the rubber on the outer cone.
Its pretty small, so it shouldnt cause any problems. I have a 3 year warranty on them, or I can put them back in the box get a refund, and buy it again with the warranty
Think its a good idea? LOL
