I just bought the right hand drive door lock actuator, and now i am planning take the car to a shop to get a keyless remote entry alarm installed. Ive searched the forum but am still confused on answer to this. i want to make sure whoever installs the alarm on my car understands the deal with the actuator and how to install it and wire it with the alarm, and turbo timer if necessary. Can someone email or pm me and let me know the exact detailed "how to" on this so i can have the person do a good job and have it done right?
I'm sure many others are interested in this too....

 

You will need to interview the shop that is working on your car, to see if they can do it. Many shops do not have people experienced on 80's and 90's exotics like the FD.

I am assuming this is a FD?

If so: normally I would use an aftermarket DL motor/actuator, it would attach onto the the interior Hand lock/unlock **** on the door NOT ON THE CABLE.

This is pretty standard on many early-mid 90's Japanese cars like the 300ZX and the FD as well as many early/mid-80 Ital cars.

I am sure your Right Hand doorlock motor may be able to be used as well, although I never went (or saw the need to go) that expensive route.

As too the turbo timer, its wire-up will entirely depend upon the security/keyless system you are adding. Many security systems can co-exist with the turbo timer, while some of the cheaper brands will have to have a couple of relays wired in conjunction to the Turbo timer and ignition input to the keyless/security system.

So there is no all and mighty Wire it this way. It entirely depends on what product is going into what car.
