put h.i.d in headlights look and work great, then put h.i.d in front bumper lights and coverted driving lights to fog and blinker lights to driving lights.now i got smoke and flames.the bulbs are burning up the plastic around the lights.has anyone ever put h.i.d in?need help and fast.maybe i need a bulb that is not as strong.really dont know.looking for suggestions bc have a front mount and dont really want to put the fog in front of the intercooler.do they make fog lights for the sides of the bumper.meaning the two scoops on the sides of a stock bumper?

HIDs are pretty darn hot so this is not surprising. I think I have seen a few that have put HIDs in the bumpers though so maybe they will chime in.

Did you keep your pop ups? If so, how about some pics?

uhm. you cant just put hids in the bumperlights, they where built for 15-20w
if you want to use them for driwing lights this is the way to go (in my oppinion)

did you use the stock wirings? If so you might be burning out those wires. You have to run new wires with a relay to turn them on. On warm up the ballast will use LOTS of power and will burn out any tiny wires. Run new wires and it should be ok. HID bulbs run cooler then halogen headlights. Since you're running in the turn signal...i don't think it can handle the extra jump from the turn signa bulb to the hid bulb. If you were to put them in the headlights it would be ok. Doing a retrofit would be best.
