Indiglo Gauges (Hope I didn't mess up)

I was installing the white faced indiglo gauge faces on my speedometer, boost, fuel pressure, etc. I'm hoping I did not mess things up because I pulled off the needles instead of laying the faces on without pulling off the needles. The fuel, oil pressure, and water temp don't sit right. I have not installed the cluster back on my car and started it up yet but I just does not look right. How to fix?

I've done indiglos on other cars and helped on others I don't know if it's the case with these cars but I know on the two other times I've seen the needles pulled off the gauge cluster was worthless after pulling the needles off. It was going to be almost as expensive to fix as buy new clusters

i installed them on my fd. the only needle i didnt take off was my fuel needle, because it already sat pretty high.
make sure you mark the LIMITS of the needle, back and forth, so when you reattach them they will only travel as far as they did origianally, make sense?

the guages on top of the stock ones make the platform thick, so what i HAD to do was raise all the needles up slightly to clear the indiglo. there is plenty of room to raise and lower the needles so dont worry about that.
i think they look great in my fd, good luck with yours.

Its pretty simple to recalibrate the guages after remving the needles.
You should make usre you have a full tank of gas(so you know where that needle goes) then you should of taken note where the temo and oil sit at idle before you pulled the needles off. So when the car is idling you can set the needles back on the guages while its running.
After that you have to do some drivin with the guages plugged up. You usually set the speedo guage at 0 when standing still, you might have to play with it some to actually get it on 0 instead of 5 mph etc..
Then Drive up the street and set the RPM guage like this
In 3rd gear at 3k rpm you shoul be doing 50 mph.
And in 5th gear at 3k rpm you should be doing 80 mph.
Now that is with FD3S Im not sure if FC3S is the same .

Have fun

What I did (for the dash shown in my icon) was to take a digital pic of my dash with the car running - gas tank full- before removing the gauge pod. Then when I got her done, I had a reference pic to set the needles. Normally, you won't have to remove them, but I did so I could scuff them and shoot some red paint on them to make them more visible against the white faces.

still, way too complicated guys.
what i am saying is to take guages off, get plastic off then mark with a pencil where each guage travels too. then, you slip the needles back on and make sure they go to the same marks.

you dont even have to touch them, they are very sensitive so just deeply exhale on them and they will move. (im sure you figured this out, but mark where the fuel guage sits asap, just in case you move it)

lol

i thought all you do is let everything kool down and turn the key to the "on" postion (not started) and place needles in the cold position.

the key in the on postion sends current to the needles so you will have a more accutare reading then haveing it off (even if its cold) the reason they are telling u to run the motor is the key is in the "on" position. but it doesn't matter which way

fuel guage just quess. filling it up may not be a good idea for the fact that the needle sits at the fuel line for a long time before going down. fuel is hard to get right. just try to remember.

this is how i did mine. and they still work...
