i am painting my rx7!!!!!!!

ok well i am painting my rx7. and my painter watns EVERYTHING removed off the 7, pull out all the seals. take the windshield off. seal around the sun roof. around the doors.

where is a good place to buy the seals. i'm looking to not spend to much money, but i do want to do it right, hence why i am selling my convertible to fund the painting project.

Well if your looking for new seals i would suggest calling ray crowe, I needed to replaced some weather stripping and seals when my fd was getting painted, he gave me great pricing. Or if you want used seals, which I would assume would defeat the purpose, your can try placing a WTB in the 2nd gen for sale section.

even if i was doing another spray paint job. it looks 10x better then any poor single stage, garage, with crappy compresser, and cheep spray gun paint job.

lets see you try what i have done. anything i have done. lets see you try it with no experience and have the results i have had.

my **** lookd clean but i went to far with sand paper into the paint i had on there. didnt expect to ever sand and buff. but got bored and cut threw colour to primer. tough ****.

time for REAL paint job. 500 bux in paint alone. real good ****. no duplicolor. everything off the car.

no quite 100% positive i just orderd a 2 part spray can sample of the paint i would like to test . the scheme is deffinantly going to be the same break line top and bottom. though i will clean up the line a bit.
the top will be black/metalic gray flake. in the sun it will give a prizium effect very sharp line none of that large rainbow crap

and on the bottom. there is this flop from terquoise blue to purple. its almost the blue i have now but way more deep of a color. and then it flops to a rich purple.
the bottom lowest one.

i am waiting on the paint can to come in to see if i really like it on a whole scale aplication like my fender.

if you dont like the gray metalic flake. then oh well. i think it goes good because it has all the colors of the 2nd color as well as complimentary colors... just looks good.
i been staring at my paint samples ever since i got them :-P

i am hopping that when its between purple and bright blue it will look gray (like at night) and it'll slipp off into the night, but durring the day , being that the bright blue is the main color in the flop. it will be extreamly bright and vibrant and purple where its not direct 90degree from sun. hard to explane but so far looks great on the sample.

and its not that expencive. being that you dont have to use their base or clear. you can use any high quality urithane. so you buy their pigment and reducer, and such. then the rest what you wish. even then. their paint isnt horribly expencive.

Don't be silly. That mood ring paint is VERY expencive. Why would I waist my money on mood ring paint on a car.a bike maybe but not my car! Don't be a fool man. Purple to blue flop paint is far from mood ring. And that metalic is not so much either. Besides I'm trying them right? Why not try something new and never seen. Or I'll just paint my fc white or red like every one else hahaha. come on. I painted my car with duplicolor befor. U think I follow "rules" hehehe

I don't care u don't like it. Infact let it make u mad. Cause I won't stop!

yes this mood ring paint, i dont like it

yes, mood ring paint does look a tiny bit retarded. and this is why i am NOT using it for my aplication.

PRIZMA COAT is deffinantly not "mood ring"

(top left below gold, prizma coat over black base)

Just providing my opinion and that is all. Why would you want to paint a car to look like something you would find on an seven year olds bracelet?

please show me a picture of your 7 year olds bracelet. and if you dont have a 7 year old. why would you be collecting them?
i have no idea what a 7 year olds bracelet looks like. i can only amagin cheep plastic with bits of metal flake in it to get a sparkle effect.
if your trying to say that the metal flakes are big? they may look like it on the 1/24 scale fd. but they're very fine and on a car look like a pearl.

ran out of paint half way threw and it spit out a good bit of reducer down at the door end of the fender. nice streek. nice and cloudy and uneven... not as vibrant as it needs to be. but hey... its a test, and its on the fender to give me a good idea.
also because there is overcast today. its only its "middle" color. not to blue . not to purple. more in the middle. but hey. i like it. nice pastel color. and girly
