How to stop antenna from comming up

I dont want it stop all the time. It comes up when I play a cd. I think the stock antenna look kinda cheesy anyway(looks way to big for the car). But Im usually bumpn a cd and the antenna stays up. Is my cd player not hooked up correctly? is a sony something mx650, its the one with flat face that folds out.

there is a power line that leads to the antenna if u dissconnect it the antenna will not go up even if you turn the radio on. the reception is still decent with the antenna down.

Just splice is a small switch, like the ones used on boats on the control panel, good to go. Then you can raise it or lower it anytime you want.

Did you use a harness when you put the deck in or wire it yourself? I've got a Sony deck (CDX-CA850X) and the ant. stays down when there's a CD in. The wire to it is only a signal wire, similar to the signal wire for amps. I think it's typically blue with a white stripe, but I could be wrong. Make sure that it is the right wire that's hooked up. If it is...well, go with Spirit's idea.

Some head units have two +12v outputs, one fo rthe antennae, and one for the remote lead. The remote lead comes on whenever the unit is on (for an amp), whereas the antennae comes on whenever the tuner is on (to raise the ant.).

If yours doesn't (i've go ta 9675z clarion) like mine doesn't, splice a toggle switch in for the antenna....
