How to fix hole in sub?

Unhappy How to fix hole in sub?

Here's the deal, one day I open my hatch and see that there is a hole in my not even a year old sub SOB. Is there any way to repair this with out further affecting sound quality?
here's a pic of it before so you know what we're dealin with here

where is the hole?

if it's that new you should be able to send it back to clarion and get a free new one

New sub is not in the budget, and I think the hole was made by something I had in my hatch so I don't think clairon will cover that.
The hole is a few inches away from the center.

Oh ok I was thinking it was in the surround. I don't know would fiberglass patch work? it's nice and light and stiff.

A ghetto fix I know, but cover the hole with some duct tape till you can afford to buy another sub. The hole isn't going to get any smaller and the integrity of the speaker is already lost with the hole there so you'll have to live with it until you get a replacement. If you're on a budget, try buying a used sub on the car audio forums:

A grill isn't always a good idea. Some high excursion subs will hit the grill when played at high volume.

most not all but most high excursion subs have a grill you can get for them. the only two can think of that don't are the W7 family and the 36" audiobahn.
