How do I repair a rust spot in my sunroof?

My car came from South Carolina near the coast. I have noticed a few spots that have been repaired but there is one spot that you can only see when the sunroof is open. I will try to get some pictures of it. I don't know what to do. Anyone have any ideas?

im not really a body expert or any thing, but sand it down until the rust is completely off, primer it, clear coat, paint it. like i said ive really havent had any body repair experience so dont do any thing till you get better advice. also there is more detailed instructions if you do a search.

I think there is some stuff that kills the rust. Not really sure. If you go to a body shop around you I bet they would tell you no problem.

if it's not on the sunroof panel, it's just in the brackets and sliders, you can disassemble them and powdercoat em, they'll never rust then

The rust is on a lip that is near the seal to keep the water out. When my car gets out of the shop I will take pics.

This isn't the best pic, but it is on the roof with the sunroof pulled back. Should I file it and put an anti-rust solution on it and paint it?

As soon as you can before the cancer spreads. If you have to grind it all out and primer it or just spray it with some white spray paint. Dont let it wait too long though.
