how do i fix my dimmer????

can somebody tell me what i need to fix the dimmer on my 3rd gen???

Maybe, what wrong with it? Does it just not dim? or are the lights off alltogether?

the dimmer doesnt work, and the guages light up when they want to. There is a shortage in the somewhere, but i was told to fix the dimmer first becuase all the currents flow threw the dimmer to the guages.

Well, i suppose the best way would just be to pull it out and either clean all the contacts up, or replace the rotary piece with something from radio shack.
