Hey fellas I need some help with my radio setup.

On fds my kenwood radio kills my battery after couple {2-4} I trace the problem toward to the radio it draws voltage even though the radio was shut off. I set it up like this it has {2} power source constant power and when u switch on the key to acc's like how they {kenwood}say to hook it up. But my battery goes dead what gives can u radio expert explain to me what can I do to prevent this. Also I have a 6 disc cd changer and kenwood equalizer.thanks

There should be a constant 12V wire (yellow) and a acc wire (red) from the radio.

The yellow needs to go to the factory constant in the dash, the red to the factory switched accessory wire.

Not too hard to mess up, unless you screwed up the powere antenna wiring

i'm having a problem with my deck too... when i turn my car off... my deck (music) stays on, but the subs turn off, so all i got is vocals... as soon as i press a button on the deck, THEN will it only turn off.
Anyone know what the problem could be ?

Ahhh micky mouse wired your radio????

sounds like your antenna turn on is wired incorrectly or there are other major wiring problems

Again for those of you who can't search:

here's the radio wires again...

LTBlue/Red= 12v+
LtBlue/White= +Accessory
LtBlue/Yellow= - power ant trigger (not positive like all aftermarket radios- you must use a relay to invert the signal)
Red/Black= + Lumination
White=Factory Amp Turn on

Ground to the body, use the 10mm bolt behind the center console front drivers access panel. Do not use the Red/Black as ground it will damage the interior light circuit and dimmer in the car

Front Speakers (maximum of a 15 watt peak from the radio):
LtGreen/Red= Left
LtGreen/Black= Left

LtGreen= Right
LtGreen/Yellow=Right

Rear Speakers (if applicable, if you have the amplified rear speakers again the Maximum of 15 watts peak is all the stock speaker amp input can handle):
Brown= Left rear
Brown/White= Left Rear

LtBlue= Right Rear
LtBlue/Orange=Right Rear

This definatly sounds like the problem. A simple test with an ohm meter should be able to tell witch wire are witch.

Hey update no more dead battery becasue I switch my the kenwood radio and equalizer Red wire to constant power and the yellow to acc. I have double check it with the test light and I got no light lid up and my amp main power was still connected so my amp it shut off the way it should but my problem was the kenwood units power wire's were mis label.
