Has anyone painted thier dash panels with the GREY Duplicolor Bumper Paint?

I know a few people have done this in the black color. I wanted to see if anyone had done it in the grey color to mimic the SpiritR interior panels?

I am in the middle of doing a test piece on an old shifter piece. We'll see how it turns out.

So it turned out really dark. It would look good with an all black interior... mine is tan so it's hard to imagine. I picked up the other can of grey in a lighter shade and will test that on another piece. We'll see how this color works.

Yes I saw that. I don't like it. I am wanting something more like the matte dark grey that came on the SpiritR

It's pretty easy once you figure out the best way to do it. I started with 150grit, and soon realized it wasn't working so I wet the panel down and MAN did it make a difference in smoothing out all of the scratches and getting the majority of the old coating off. I then worked up to a 400 wet... and primerd it with duplicolor primer. Sand again with 400 and 800, wipe down with a tac cloth and primer again. I followed this until I was happy with the panel.

I have only prepped them so far. I am waiting for a ncie day to spray the final coating on all of the panels at once. That way there won't be any small differences due to temp/humidity or the way I layed the paint down.

I am currently working on re-enforcing the drivers pocket, the center console and the pass grab handle.

Hey BC FD3S any updates and pics of your panels? Would really like to know how they turned out and what color grey you ended up using. I chickened out and had an interior specialist spray mine. I was surprised how light the color really was to match what the picture shows of the Spirit R.

Please post some pics of your finished project.

Haven't gotten around to spraying the final coat down due to the weather. I have to do it outside and it's been either raining, hailing or monsoon winds for the past few weeks.

All the panels are prepped though and ready to go once some warmer weather rolls around, so most likely spring.

Car sits anyways through the winter so I don't mind my interior ripped apart.
