Thumbs up Golf sized hail!!

So I got hit by hail the size of golf *****. The car looks bad. The insurance company gave me $6000, yes $6000!!

Now, I will have the car painted. It is Montego Blue and it has bronze Volk wheels.

Would you:

A: repaint it Montego Blue

B: Paint it black

C: Paint it in other color.

Mind you that the engine bay will be untouched cause the motor still runs.

I am leaning towards black. THe wheels are Volk CE28N in bronze.

I'd get the hail damaged fixed...

And a color change can cost you more than $6k depending.

LOL, reparing the car is a given...do you think I was just going to repaint it over the dents, LOL. I got a fat check cause the hood was going to be replaced, the wing also, the front fenders, the sunroof, the tail lights, LOL, only the motors was left intact, hahaha. That aside, reparing the car and painting it without having to replace parts will cost around $2500. I

Oh, I forgot to mention. The interior is black, except for the carpet. I am looking to replace that too.

Fix the car to original condition and go on vacation with what's left over.

are you doing the repairs yourself? 6k just doesn't sound that much for body and paint work.

Montego Blue is a very dark blue/green color.

Innocent Blue Mica(of the 99spec FDs) is more compairable to RSP. IBM > RSP.

I took it to several body shops for an estimate, I did not go for the cheapest, but not for the most expensive.

It is all dings, and only the taillights and wing were broken, the rest are just like if a shopping cart hit it, several hundred times, LOL. The hood took the most of it, as did the passenger side.

THe only reason the insurance company gave me so much is because they go by dealership rates and would prefer to replace rather than fix.

The honestly thought it was going to be somewhere around $3000 total, but it came out to $6000. I will take some pics.

You can have it fixed, but its going to take a body shop a long *** time to go around and pound/fill/sand right every dent if it is as extensive as you say it is and then you have nice body filler spots all over the car as opposed to fresh panels. Insurance companies are not stupid.. if they thought they could get away with giving you just enough to cover repairs as opposed to new panels they would have.

On second thought if you think 2500 is going to get you everything fixed and a new paint job i do not even want to see the end product... around here 2500 will get you a decent, at best, same color repaint .. and that is not including any extensive body work which it sounds like you need.

Not trying to come off sounding like an ***, but good work is not cheap in the body world and i personally have friends who went the "ill get this done cheap and pocket some cash itll look fine" route and wound up less than happy with what they got.
