How much did it cost you guys for a GOOD paint job? I don't mean like Maaco... Cheap and crappy... Just wondering. I know it's pretty expensive, but I'm bored, and felt like posting something :p If I get the RX7 I'm going after, I'll want to get it painted at some point.... Red just isn't my thing I had a friend suggest Maaco at some point....tsk tsk....


I know prices will vary..... But this is more of a curiosity and passing-the-time thing.... I wouldn't be doing something like this for a while....

 

Expect at least 5k.

 

5K!!!!! Thats alot. dang, here you get a cheap one for $400 and a good for $1600

 

I've never heard $5k before O_o More like $2k and stuff.

 

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, $5K is about right! That *is* for a top notch job however.

 

damn paint job doubles the price of my car

 

Well I know some one who just got his body kit molded on and car painted bright orange for 3 grand. So yeah, you could get a good job for under $5K.

 

I'm painting mine my self. It will end up costing around $500. I'm using that mirage paint. It changes from black to saphire when the light hits it right. The $500 includes a primer, a base coat, the paint, and two coats of claer selaent.

 

The lady who owned it before had it painted yellow, with that 1970's style red interior. That has to go. Does anyone know where I can find a complete interior in Hawaii?
