Cool.. I've been searching for someone to paint my entire car also.. I'm thinking 99 spec blue.. I think it's the same blue as the miata here... It's just that I can't find anyone to paint it here.. I wanna give it to them all prepped and sanded... but they still want loot.. so we'll see.. if not.. it stays black..
LOL.. I dunno about the best looking.. There are a lot of nice looking FDs in here.. you, Hedgehog, C h e a t h a m , TTT and .. well.. actually A LOT of nice FDs.. too many to name. I'm just dying to get my car back on the road.
Believe me.. pics will be up.. shiet.. pics are up and it's not even done.. lol

Jspec, are you going to get the engine bay painted too if you do it? Im contemplating changing colors to the 99 spec blue as well (damn u man, lol). Have you ever seen a car that has had its door jambs, trunk, and undersides painted, but not the engine bay? I really wanna make my car a blue. I know the only time people will see the difference is when i pop my hood, but iono. . . . my mind worries in a way.

That's a killer looking car..but I have a quick question about the hood. I've seen this in a couple of other cars and have always wondered.
The two clips are seems to be towards the front of the car on the hood, what are they for? Are they clipped into place so that they don't ratte around while driving and chip paint??

the 2 clips are hood pins. Basically,t heir used to secure the hood, since some aftermarket hoods dont utilize the stock latches/fiberglass wont hold as strong as the stock metal hood. the pins are insurance, as most would say.

I'm still searching for places to do it.. I really want the 99 blue, but it's DAMN expensive to get the complete car painted..
So it's either I can find a place that'll hook me up to do a complete paint job or,
Paint everything but the engine bay or,
keep it black.
For some of the prices I've been getting, I can get a single turbo upgrade... so we'll see in a couple of weeks..

Exactly what RedR1 said... the hood I have does have the factory latch, but who knows how the hood will hold up in high speeds... it definately adds extra insurance.
If you have the hood pins on right and have it tight, it shouldn't rattle and there is no way it would chip the paint.

So it the hood pins aren't the ONLY thing holding the hood from being opened, but the stock latch is also working for you. Otherwise I would think anyone would able to open the hood..(sorry dumb questions, I know..)
