widebody ,is it worth the money

What do you think is it worth $9,000 for this [re] wide body kit? (RE 2002 Wide body kit)
This is by far the best mllooking rx-7 body in the world.

personally i would say no it isnt. unless your building a race car then i could see why it may help with cooling, aerodynamics, and fitting larger wheels but other then that its a lot of money to spend if it is not going to be used for racing purposes

depends on the use of the car/kit. roadrace, a widebody gives the advantage of running wider tires/rims, as well as aerodynaics as MazdaSpeed said. other than that though, i really dont see any real advantage.

Only reason i could see is if you need to make time on the track and rules allow (this would mean real racing, not a track event) and/or you make enough horsepower that the largest wheels that fit under the stock fenders (i believe w/ coulovers/M2 links and some light fender reshaping you can get 315 rear, 275 front on 10" f, 11" r rims.)

Or you just wanna look cool. Is that kit 10k cool? only if you've done EVERYTHING else.

oops, i meant if the largest tires that fit under stock fenders don't have enough grip for your horsepower.

Not to mention that if you really want to run wideer tires, just make sure you have 3-piece rims and the 15th ann. Mazdaspeed fender flares and then you are able to pop in another 1inch int he front and back.

DAMN! Niiice.

Those are the 15th anniv. flares, right?

What is the consensus on how much extra room those give you?

I was think about 1", but that pic makes it look like you could get away with more.

What is YOUR definition of a widebody then?

And I was sponsered one of the first kits in the US thru Carisma. I had an extra set that I was parting out awhile back and most have already been sold, except the rear fender flares. If anyone wants them you can IM me. Once again I perfer local people who can pick them up. They will be given the cheapest price.

About 1/2 an inch to a full inch, depending how well the kit is sanded and preped.
