FD steering wheel
So, i searched the forum for my FD steering wheel issue.
I've got an OMP steering wheel which has thesame boltpattern as any Sparco
wheel.
FD's seem to have problem with the airbag lamp/buzzer and horn.
Some say a 2nd gen Momo hub does the trick but leaves you with the airbag lamp, others say you need to go with a Miata hub
What's the deal i need a bolt on solution from Sparco,Momo is it available?
Thx

"I just did this with a sparco mugello. i used a hub from here: http://www.finishlineperformance.co...ction&key=I1088
It is an early Miata hub and disables the airbag light while providing plug and play wiring for the horns and turn signal lights still work normally. Fits perfectly and easy to install. Took about 20 minutes start to finish. You can search the interior section for someone else's writeup on that hub as well. That is where I the tip from.
I like the Mugello wheel as I now have enough room so that my thigh isn't up against the wheel when I'm heel-toe downshifting, but I do wish the wheel was a little thicker. I have long fingers and a thicker wheel would work better for me.
The Sparco Mugello works pretty well in terms of gauge visibility. It covers the chrome ring around the tach, but doesn't cover any of the numbers on the tach or anything.
Hope that helps."

Aftermarket Steering Wheel Adapter for FD- Found the perfect one!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am pleased to have found a steering wheel adapter than makes the installation of a Momo, Sparco or other such steering wheel a simple bolt on job for US Spec air bag equipped 93-95 RX7s.
A couple of years ago I installed a Momo steering wheel on my '92 Miata and loved it. I purchased a custom adapter from "Finish Line Performance" that is designed specifically for the air bag equipped 1st generation Miata. It comes with proper wiring to make the air bag warning light not go on and the horn connection a true plug and play experience. The adapter also cancels the turn signal perfectly.
I wanted to put a Momo Steering Wheel on my FD also and I was remarking at how the steering wheel setup on the two cars appear indentical. So I took a gamble and purchased the same hub adapter I used for my Miata and it works PERFECTLY. No air bag light, horn works fine, turn signals cancel, location is perfect and no cutting wires or modifications at all. The whole install took 20 minutes at a liesurely pace.
Here is a link to the website that sells it. You want the '90-'97 Miata steering wheel hub adapter:

Just thought I'd pass the word around!
Cheers!

indeed and shipping it by air will double the cost...
I'll be trying to figger something out with a friends Miata hub or a hub from another car I have here, but the chance are few that it will work
