FD speaker size?

Anyone know the size of the speakers in the doors in a FD (had bose). Mine needs replacing- dont know the size.

I don't know if there's a dif. between the Bose and non, but the non is 5.25". PITA to replace too.

no difference. bose just has the little inline amps. its the actual molding and space that determines the size.

They are 6x8. Actually, more manufacturers are making this size lately. There must be a popular recent model car using these sizes.

The Bose speakers are completely different than the typical speaker. You can't just put any speaker in there. The Bose speakers are only 1 ohm vs the typical 4 ohm speaker.

i was told that the fronts were 51/4
and the reare was 5x7

Nope, the rears are 6x8. The fronts are some messed up custom size -- ~6". You can fit 6.5" fronts if they aren't too deep. You can also use 5.25" but will need to fab a baffle up.

My comments are assuming a non-Bose system. The Bose system is completely different.

so are you saying that the non bose is 6inch fronts and the rear are 6x8 if so whooooooo hoooooo
