Looks like the stock shift **** to me, it may actually be shorter than the stock one and help work with the short shifter, you can call them and ask.

IIRC, the MAZDASPEED **** is the same as OEM, it just has MAZDASPEED stamped vertically into the leather.
You could also try Ray at Malloy Mazda for OEM.

Looking at archives - it seems that Mazdaspeed Leather **** is the same weight and the only complain is quicker wear.

It's cheaper at $85 for Masdaspeed compare to $130 for Mazda. I will ask Ray for price though..

I got a carbon fiber wannabe for valentines day from the soon to be ex. The thing didn't even fit, much like me and her. Amazing how some purchases parallel life, eh?

The one I have is in my car or I'd post the make/model of it so no one else tries it. hopefully though, no one else wants to buy a knock off, fake carbon fiber shift ****.

For clarification, this is the one I'm familiar with, and I'm pretty sure it's the same dimensions as the stocker. From http://rx7.com/store/rx7/fdindex.html

I got new one from Ray. Looks like $1 million.

Today on one of the BMW message boards I found good review on http://www.aglausa.com/

They do steering wheels and it cost around $200. I sent them email asking how much would they ask for FD shift ****. It may worth it if it's like $50?

You want to guinea-pig them? Send in your old one and have them re-cover it and post up the results. Might be nice alternative, especially if you can order different color thread to match the aftermarket shift/e-brake boots.
