FD HID projector conversion is done
We basically installed an HID projector from a Audi TT/3-series (they both use the same projecter) into the 93+ RX7 headlight. The HID equipment we used-ballasts, bulbs, harness, etc- is top-quality equipment made in Germany. It is a very involving process and my friend whom I work with can only do about 2 pairs/month due to time constraints. Price is TBA. I'm going to auction this pair on ebay and go from there.

wheres the highbeam?
There's no high-beam. The xenon bulb only powers the low-beam projector.
We are currently working on a bi-xenon retrofit that will allow the projector to switch between high/low beam operation.

You can always swap them out if you ever want to go back to stock.

Thanks.
I'll have the details on the FC conversion in about a week. It'll be cheaper, that's for sure, because it'll use a different setup due to the fact that the headlamp is used by other cars as well.
I got a couple of private messages about this setup...
I had HID projectors mounted because they provide a very sharp cutoff and spread light evenly. The beam pattern is very sharp and will not blind oncoming drivers, despite the 3x greater light output of the xenon bulbs. This process is not something new...although I don't think anyone has done this to an FD before. Anyways, it was a time consuming project that I had performed for me because the results are worth it in the end. Whoever ends up with these headlights is going to have something very unique and functional.

The Audi has a seperate bulb for the high-beam. Its like the RX8: there is one bulb for the low beam and another for high-beam.
There isn't enough room to mount another high beam projector inside the FD housing. We're looking at a bi-xenon retro in the future though. It'll have a motor that will adjust the beam pattern to mimic a high-beam once you flip on your highs.
And to answer a PM... These lights look very similar to the Audi TT and 3-series BMW. Afterall, he mounted the same projector both cars currently use. It also has that color-changing, flicker effect you see as the suspension movement changes the angle of the lights.
