Angry FD Glove box FIX?

So I just got a working glove box from another forum member on here mainly because my old glove box latch was broken could not stay up and would always fall.

New glove box was working perfectly fine for months. Latch is still intact.

UNTIL RECENTLY... it doesn't stay latched. It always falls, no matter how hard I try to push it up, fudging around with the latch itself in the hole, or even trying to see if the metal prong was bent or just didn't catch the hook/latch in the glove box itself. Really annoying to hear it rattle around while driving and seeing the glove light shine in my peripheral at night.

Is there a fix to keep the glove box up and stays up? Or are all FD owners doomed with a super crappy glove box?

Same issue I had with my 93. I had to cut/pull apart the latch and reglue stuff together.

Is this the only way to fix it? So be it....

How did you pry the two pieces of hard plastic to open easily?

So correct me if I'm wrong... the only way to fix a not-closing glove box is to screw down a loose latch screw inside the plastic? Then glue (or Krazy Glue) everything else back?

I have had to repair numerous 93 glove boxes. The only solution is to separate the clam shell and reinstall the hardware for the latch. I recommend using some Loctite on the screws. I used the expanding polyurethane Gorilla Glue and wood clamps to reassemble the glove box, let it cure for 24hours.

Holy crap. All for a '93 glove box!

You can't just use a '94 glove box right? What if I got a '94 latch and placed it inside?

Sorry for the noobness. New rotary/FD owner since last year-ish.

Not even remotely close. The 94-95 dash/glove box are completely different design to accommodate the passenger side airbag.
