fav alarm system

I'm wanting to upgrade my stock alarm system, any recommendations? I heard good stuff about Cobra but I want to hear your input too. Thanx

Colt, and Smith & Wesson are good brands.

But seriously, just get Comprehensive insurance. A professional thief can get around any alarm system. What would be the point of spending $700 for a top of the line alarm only to have your car jacked anyway?

ya I got Statefarm insurance which is good stuff and the comprehensive insurance. Thanx for the imput, man. I saw a new alarm system in Sport Compact Car in their Off The Shelf section- it is a small LCD color screen pager and looks to be real nice.

I think a lowjack and an excellent alarm with a pager will be your best bet. Some alarms even come with a gyro to sense a change in angle as if the car were being towed.

Just think if you were in the movies, your alarm pager goes out, you run outside to realize some low life how probably sucks dick for extra cash stole your ride. You imediately call the cops, they instantly begin to track it through lowjack, and you may even get your car back before anything is removed from it.

And if you have a Power FC, you can also simply set your redline like at 100rpms, and remove the commander everynight. Of course, it would help if you were crafty enough to construct a quick disconnect for the commander.

because if your car gets stolen you only get the blue book value of the car.

Not if you pay the premium for modifications. Even with an alarm your car can still get stolen.

As flybye said, lowjack and a good alarm is probably the best thing you can get to protect your car from being stolen and stripped. Do you know what alarms come with gyro's? That seems like it would help a lot.

And the PFC redline idea is also another great option.

Or you could add all 3, just to be safe.

A pager-alarm can be had for under $200... if you install it yourself. In that price range, the Prestige and DEI alarms are pretty nice. The prestige 996 has a lot of extra outputs, if you're into that sort of thing.

Mine helped me catch a cat trying to **** on my bumper!

You'll have to spend extra for a driver-side door-lock-solenoid. It could be a pain to install, if you've never done it before.
