factory paint

how many clearcoats do factory paint have nowadays?

i'm getting a new paint job soon and its gotta be speced oem style

depends on the factory. i work at mazda, and i've been told that all mazdas made in japan have 3 light coats. US made mazdas have 2 Med coats. my car has 8 coats wit pearl lol. then again, i did my own car.
