F1SPEC should discount them or at least say they will cover the return shipping as you are putting these in an application that may or may not fit. If they don't fit you would have to either sell the seats (most likely at a loss) or eat the shipping back to them (if they will even let you return them). If F1SPEC wants to sell them they need to make some type of incentive to be the first to try them out and take pictures. I would be interested in them too if they fit well, but I still don't think they will fit very well from their dimensions.

So come on F1SPEC, a small discount or paying return shipping if they don't fit ,is a small price to pay for what looks to be a lot of possible customers.

I have one of the spoon replica F1 seats in my FC and the seat can be mounted very low, its excellent for headroom. I recommend using their sidemounts and bolting them to your existing stock sliders and possibly modifying the stock sliders to sit even lower.

I used the F1 sliders and they only lock on one side and the seat moves a little on the sliders during hard braking and launches... I will mod the stock sliders when I get a chance.

oh yeah the seat is very wide compared to a real deal spoon seat! wow! but its roomy and comfortable. the fabric seems durable and the seat shape is very comfortable. I've driven in a Sparco Ultra, Recaro SRD and a Momo Start for comparison. the oval plastic pieces that surround the harness holes on my seat are a little wimpy and bend inwards on their long edge allowing the seat fabric to lift up and look goofy in the 5th harness slot.

if you need an FIA apporved seat you are better off going with a Momo Start seat that is the same weight, same cost and even stiffer yet has FIA appproval.

I do not think the spoon style will fit in an FD... but F1specs skinniest seat will most likely fit with ease.

I wonder how these compare with the Memoryfab seats. I know someone with an FD fit one of theirs in.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Sparco isn't going to give you return shipping if their seats don't fit. The fact that F1SPEC provided the dimensions of the seats is as much as any other manufacturer does and I don't believe he/they need to go above or beyond what everyone else is doing.

However, I would like to see them test their seats in the FD so everyone would know if they have to create adapters or if some aftermarket rails would work. Corbeau did it to create FD specific FD rails for their seats, but they still don't tell you which seats will or won't fit; you have to look at their dimensions.

Someone test fit 'em already! From the measurements the type 3 should fit the fd, I will probably have to notch the seats a bit to fit with my door bars though.

Can I get them without the logo?

F1Spec is interested in finding out if they fit the FD too. It seems they want to sell here in order to do so they should help the first to test fit them out. Sparco is also not on this forum posting about and trying to find someone to test fit their seats. Any way you look at it they may or may not fit. I don't trust dimensions or weight given by manufacturers. They never seem to be correct or in the correct positions needed for accurate positioning.

I don't think he/they are as interested as you think. How hard do you think it is to find an FD in California willing to bring their car to a shop to try out some seats? I'm sure they will test them when it happens, but they aren't going out on a "talent search" to find them.

That's a personal problem. That's all we have to go by so you either trust them or you don't. A manufacturer has nothing to gain by not providing correct dimensions.

BTW, I'm also curious as to why they have pictures of the seats with double-locking sliders if they actually come with single-locking ones...

You say they shouldn't have to because the bigger manufacturers don't, but I think that's why they SHOULD test fit them. It's good business. It's not like we're asking for them for free, but all of the risk shouldn't be put on the consumer either. And apparently it IS fairly hard to find an FD that will drive down to their shop, because it hasn't happened in the past 2 months that they've been advertising here.

So, you expect them to test them in 'every car'? That's a bit much. Keep in mind, these seats are not "made for RX-7's". They are just seats that 'may' fit in RX-7's.

Exactly how many post by f1spec are in the West forum? You would think someone REALLY interested in having the seats tested would be posting there, or at least trying to show up at a local RX-7 gathering to get some interest.

At least me, being a business man, would do that if I was "really" interested in having it done. The simple fact is f1spec is selling these seats to other car owners. Whether or not he sells a ton here isn't that big of a deal. While more sales are always good, he's not going to go out of his/her way to make it happen. If someone contacts him about trying some seats out, he'll do it; but he's not going out and looking for someone.
