driving flip lcd touchscreen available?

ok, I am looking for a touchscreen to use on the carputer I'm thinking about building. I wanted it low key, so I thought one that would retract like the ones on some stereo's I have seen, thinking that would be the least noticable to passers by. You know, they fold forward, and go back into the headunit. Except I just need the touchscreen lcd, no headunit. Anyone Know where I can get one of these? I have been looking for only a few days, a few hours each day on the internet.

If there are any other solutions to keep this as low key as possible without compromising useability, please let me know, this is just what I thought would be best.

Thanks to anyone that can point me to the right product...later

That was exactly what I was going to try to avoid. Maybe if there was somewhere to use it easily, and still be out of sight.

I was looking for something that would be motorized, to pull back inside the dash, like some of those higher end stereos you see on the market today, you know what I mean? ...later

They have some at best buy, circuit city and stereo places. It will cost about 1,500-2,000. I was thinking about getting one put I think I'm going to get a new paint job, like mystic or colorchanging.

heh, I'd probabally figure out some creative place to custom fab something in there before I pay that much, just for the screen. I don't really have unlimited funds...later

ok- are 2nd gen's a dual din dash? mold the touchscreen into the old stereo location (7" lilliput screens seem to be popular for this). When you are molding the screen into place, recess it about 1/2inch so you can put a cover over the screen when not in use. For the cover cut the very end of your old head unit and configure it so that it still looks functional and use that as a cover. It will look bone-stock to the average passerby and when you want the screen visible just remove the cover.

Hard to explain with out pictures.

I know what you mean. That was what I originally planed to do, but I just wanted to see if what I described above was available first.

That is more than just an lcd. I will be using it with a computer, so.... what then do I do with the really expensive radio part that I don't need?...later

Edit: Some people just keep pointing me to head units with flip in lcd's. This is exactly what I do not want. I just need the motorized folding lcd...later
