Does anybody have a problem with this?

After it rains or I wash my FD, a few hours later I open the trunk and water gushes from each side of the hatch-- right down into the interior or the trunk. Does anybody else have this problem? What should I do?

Didn't this question just get asked? Anyway, do you have a wing? If so, it may be bad seals and water is getting between the bottom of the hatch lid and the top of that trim piece.

sounds like your hatch gutter drains are clogged, pour some water on them and see if it backs up, if it does....try some compressed air down the holes

That's normal for FD's. When I wash my car, it gushes down the sides too. Water just seeps into the seals from the rear windshield, and when you tilt your hatch, all of the water drips down.

lightly pull the seal up and dry that area, you'll only need to do it once.

I thought this was normal...my car does it too and I have no idea what you guys are talking about to fix it. Say you wash your car and then you lift the hatch - there are two small holes, one on each side of the hatch that lets water out. If you don't lift the hood up, I don't see how this water gets out? I use towels to dry it up because otherwise it's going to be left in between the rubber of the hatch and the metal of the car. And I do have an aftermarket R1 wing on the car.

My previous FD did this. It was a base model and the previous owner had an R1 wing installed at the dealer. The dealer did a terrible job with the seals, which were visibly crooked and offset by more than 1/4". After leaving it in a light rain for an hour or so I got a waterfall from inside the hatch *lid* when I opened it. It spilled into the interior. Doh! There was also a rust bubble on the lid just behind the window.

I'd check the window and spoiler seals.

I'm not sure if "normal" is the word we're looking for... It's like saying the 3K hesitation is "normal"... common, yes.

Well that definitely doesn't sound good - how can you check these seals? I'm guessing from the fact that I have an R1 wing installed that that's the base of the problem. I guess the holes drilled in the hatch are letting the water in? So the seals that you are talking about are where these holes are?...or I might be confused because above it sounds like there's a stock drain of some kind built into the hatch?
