Diamond cut clear lense

So has anyone ordered these yet? didn't want to post in the old wisesport thread.

i was thinking about trying them out, though i don't think my stock lights are too, too, bad with the new bulbs...

anyway, just wondering if anyone had tried them yet.

I know I have seen some cheap (<$40) on eBay advertised as a direct fit for FDs, but users found that they were really for FCs. This one seems to look like a FD shaped housing. Let us know how they turn out for you, if you get them.

I already ordered mine and I have been waiting for them to come. I will let you know once I post pics of them with my new HID's. I think Tim Benton also ordered a set. Just look out for my thread on the Kaixen light install.

yea they look the same as the wise sports one, but supposedly these are for lhd and are dot certified... so... guess we'll see. i wouldn't think the quality should be too bad, as they are 100 dollars, compared to the other square lights you can get for like 25... we'll see though.

I bought them... if you look at the center shield they look like they are aimed higher on the left than the right. I haven't install them yet.

I bought a set too. Mine also had one of the center pieces out of alignment...I bent it back to where it looked normal. I installed them along with silverstar bulbs but have yet to aim them or drive the car at night (it isnt a daily driver). So far, just turning them on in the garage, it is a great improvement over the stock faded translucent plastic lense and regular bulbs.

I have the same type in my denali and they performed about the same as stock lenses...but the stock lenses in it before were not nearly so faded as the ones in the RX7s usually are so it's not like I'd notice a difference anyway.

Some people prefer brand name items..to each his own. I don't know why people make a stink about it, just don't buy it if you don't want to spend the money.

Anyways, I hope mine come in soon. BTW for those of you who have them already these are plastic and not glass correct?!

yeah it does say glass... lol.

out of courtesy to the wisesport thread i decided to not mention these ever on the forums again haha.

btw question about stock fd headlamps.. is the poor lighting caused by badly designed reflectors/lenses or by the aging/scratching of lenses?

my stock ones are plastic as well, what's so bad about it? Most new cars come with clear plastic headlights now

Wow, that is some craptastic light housings

Not sure what size your bulb housings are but I know the FC ones are 200MM

http://www.rallylights.com/hella/headlamps.asp

And you get a choice of DOT or ECE code housings

Yeah but we would have the same problem as the other ebay ones....no mounting points.

I have a set of those FC ones that I am just willing to give away. I have no use for them.

Too bad they aren't glass but I was 99% sure they were not just by looking at the pics. I think the yellowing lenses is a big problem but not entirely the only problem. The light output just sucks. The new HID's I have make a huge difference. I want to compare what my light pattern will be with and without these reflectors.

You're 100% right, it is a personal preference. I'm not into overpaying for things, but for the most part, I believe you get what you pay for, which is why I'd rather stick w/ a larger well-known brand, despite it being more expensive. Larger names have a reputation to worry about, and thus gotta make sure their products work (in accordance w/ their claims) and are free from defects. That's why I pay the extra $$. But that's just me.

Oh c'mon man. I'm not for censoring ppl (within limits, of course...we've had some serious troublemakers in the past LOL). But I just didn't feel like dealing w/ OTHER ppl's parts on a GB I'm trying to put together, that's all. Heck, I'm very curious to see how these lenses work out (the ebay ones), and I hope everyone's happy w/ them. I just didn't wanna take the chance myself.

Uhh, I think it's cuz Mazda cut corners to minimize cost whenever and wherever possible. Amazing chassis and drivetrain (for the purpose it was built for...NOT drag racing), but along the lines you got shafted w/ cheap not-so-essential parts haha. But yea, I'm sure the 12 year old thing plays a factor in pretty much EVERYTHING on this car nowadays

From what I was reading on the website it seemed like the DOT ones had mounting points?

Kai, were they plastic or glass? Oh and if anyone's reall worried about their lenses, you can always have them 3M coated (100% clear), and it's guaranteed to prevent the housings/lenses it covers from cracking from rocks hitting it etc.
