in dash DVD won't play movies

Okay, i got a BOSS9900B in dash dvd for free from a buddy. I hooked it up to my daily driver. I put a movie and and I can hear the sound perfect, but there is a message on the screen that says, "video disabled while driving for safety purposes" Is there a way around this? I am not even driving, i was just sitting with the power ON

All DVD units have a safety feature.. Check the wiring, there is a wire for the parking brake. They normally ground this wire and the screen will play video.

There is a wire from your unit that you have to splice into your e-brake.

This is to prevent you to NOT being able to watch movies while driving (hence the e-brake method).

E-brake up = you see video
E-brake down = no video

Ground that wire that is supposed to go to your e-brake and you will see video fulltime.

Trust me, i been through this before.

PAC makes units to bypass all of this. I had to get one for my Alpine unit.

or................like the pioneer headunits, it has a self grounding. no wires to hack into.
but, if it doesnt, then all you need to do is wire a switch inline with the deck, and voula, solved.
if it is like the pioneer n2 or n3, then you have to take it apart, find the ground solder and wire, cut a hole in the shell, then wire the switch.

peace
