covered a piece in CF, need advice on what to do next (pic)

I just covered a CD in low quality weave cf fabric. I used medium resin. Now my question is what do I do next after I sand it down. Do I cover it with a gel coat or go strait to automotive clear coat?

you don't need to put on an automotive clear coat...

the Clear Gel coat will be the final surface

just reading on another site....

another guy does not add any clear gel coat to the parts..he just clear coats the carbon and resin....

his work looks very good....but I think it would take a lot of skill to get this right everytime....for starting out I would still recomend clear gel coat

You cant sand CF, its not like fibreglass. It just shreds without a clearcoat or gelcoat on top of it.
