Corbeau seats???

Does anyone here have Corbeau seats? I just cut a deal with my mom on passing class, and if I do well enough I get at least one seat and a harness. I really like the looks of Corbeau seats, but I havent seen any pics, or heard any comments on how they fit/feel, install etc.

I'm actually in the process of putting the Corbeau seats that are in my Probe into my FC.

I have the Targa RS's. The best aftermarket seats for your buck in my opinion. Corbeau told me that the reclinable seats make you sit too high in the cab however. I got the brakets anyway and plan to do whatever to make them sit right. I was actually going to do this tonight, but my car flooded real bad while not driving it the past couple days so I won't be doing it until saturday probably.

I'll write something up once it's all said and done.

Sonic shoot me a pm and let me now how it goes. I'm actually looking at the CR1s right now. I like the way they look andthe measurements better than the Targa Rs' .

Alright, I got them in Sunday night. They do, in fact, make you sit a little higher. I thought it would be ok at first. But I plan on adjusting after spending some time driving. The way I see doing this is notching the holes of the brakets out, then beating the body of the car down to allow the braket to sit lower. The brakets are already as low as they can go. So so 'fine adjustments' need to be made. As for the passenger side? They are just out of luck, I don't see how that one could be lowered any.

For reference, I'm 5' 10.5" While sitting down I'm 3" from butt to top of head.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sonic. You're a lil taller than me but I'm only 16 so I'm planning on leaving some room. Got any pics of your install?

How much higher up are we talking, here? I mean, does it make it hard to drive? Or are you just talking about head clearance?

Also, What kind of harness (if any) are you using?

The mounts for the FD are different.

So, would the new FD brackets be OK? I am trying to choose between the CR1 and the Forza style - I really like the CR1s, have sat in them before, like the looks, etc. However, if it is going to make it uncomfortable to drive without doing modifications to make them sit right, I will settle for the Forza
I just don't want to spend $1000 for them and find out that they make driving a PITA, you know?

The brackets should be fine. They test fitted them on an FD and said the clearance was fine. You can email Spencer Bond at Corbeau: sb@corbeau.com

for more details.

Thanks a lot for your help - I really was disappointed when I found out that I might not be able to get the CR1s - I love the look, feel, and price of them.

Hmmmm Honestly...? Not that much. These came out of my other car and I loved them in there. I really believe there is not as much room for improvement on the RX-7 though. It actually feels less sporty.

I'm going to lower them a little bit and mess with a few things before I decide to take them out. I'd really like to keep them in there. I talk to Corbeau a lot and they told me you can lower the cusion (well, it can be done professionally).

I have the harnesses to put in too, but am holding off on that right now.

I talked with Spencer Bond at Corbeau and they were going to hook me up with a dealer near me. I think they are going to take 1" off of the bottom cushion at the factory, and send it to the dealer as a custom order for me. I have to work out the details, though. What didn't you like about them? Sat up too high? I am just looking for a seat that I can use a 4-point harness with, because I think they are a lot sweeter than the stock ones. I know, it sounds stupid, but it's something that I have been wanting for some time. I'm not sure, exactly, where else to look - I mean, I want some quality, but Sparco and MOMO don't make brackets for our cars (FD) and they require modification to the seats to even fit in. Recaro seats and Bride seats are way over my price range, as well as Mazdaspeed. I like the looks of Corbeau seats, and I think they would suit my purposes well, if I could have them lowered as I stated before.
