Corbeau CR1s in an FD

Well, I got my seats today...
I bought black Corbeau CR1s:

Here are my impressions:
- They do ride higher than the stock seats...not a HUGE difference, but certainly noticeable.
- They are tight around the lower back - not too tight to be uncomfortable, but definitely a change.
- They provide excellent lateral support while cornering.
- They are quite a tight fit - I had to take the plasitc cover off of the tilt lever to get it to fit in and be able to adjust. They do fit in there, though, and are not overly cramped or smushed up against anything.
- they look very nice, and were a huge improvement over my dirty and torn stock seats

I was unable to put in the Passenger's side seat today because they sent me the wrong bracket for the seat belt receptical (female end). They sent me two driver's side brackets. I also have not had a chance to install the harnesses yet because the harness bar has not arrived from RX7store.COM (RX7trix).

It'll take some adjusting, and some getting used to...and maybe I'll have an inch trimmed from the foam bottom (anyone know how much this costs?)...but I'd still say it was a major improvement and good investment.

On a similar note, how would I go about correcting the height of these new seats, without cutting away foam? Is there a way? It's not really that big of a problem, but if it can be fixed easily, then I would rather do it and get it back to what I am used to, you know? Thanks

Nice, do the seats still slide all the way back? I was looking at sparco torinos but after seeing them in the car I couldn't fit in.

With the plastic cover off of the recliner handle, they do slide all the way back. You might have a little resistance the first time (there is like one part that sticks out a cm too far) but it will find a small groove and be OK (not bad at all)...
I tried to correct the height a little - not sure how well it worked until I put them back in again. The brackets came with 20 washers, and the instructions said to put 5 washers on each bolt between the bracket and seat. I took the 10 rear ones out on each seat (bracket now flush with seat) and left eight in the front (four on each side). I had to do this to leave room for the sliding mechanism to work, but I eliminated about 3/4" in the rear, which I hope will help a little.

Why did you not get the A4 or GT7?
They would fit the car better due to being narrower.
Are they too small for you?

I am thinking of the A4s. Will be going to a local dealer soon.

Also, A4 is taller by 1.5 inches...not sure if I like that.
IMO, GT7 is ugly
