Is there any reasonably price alternative to this as a replacement?
Personally, I don't care for the CF look, but if its the only replacement, I'd rather have something than a broken pocket and door. Every time I pull the door shut it reminds me its broken with that flex and cracking sound.
If there isn't I may pick up a pair. I wonder if you could wrap them with a more matt finish closer to OEM.

What our community could really use is a dependable company to re-manufacture the stock plastics in either/both a strong plastic or carbon fiber that's a direct replacement. Even if a company made it only in carbon, if the person didn't want the look they could always refinish it in whatever themselves.
But yeah, you should definitely consider making this evo-r. I definitely think there is a market for it and your work appears to be top notch. We just need someone who won't bail like JSK or whatever that company was. As these cars age the market will only grow.

I cant do links first its prob against the rules, secondly the chinese cycle out ebay accounts monthly it seems.
The map pocket delete however is by evo-r, you remove the map pocket and bin and then it has double sided tape and you adhere it to the doorcard.

Try and contact these people. I don't know anything about them but the images look the same as the ebay ones, at least from what I remember. If I was ready to do my interior I would talk to them myself, otherwise you can wait a year and see what happens when I do.

I think the issue is that peoples pieces are broken/ missing/ no longer functional so a wrap isn't an option. At least that's the issue I have. And I don't really think buying used parts from a member is the best option because eventually, in short time, those will most likely end up in the same condition. At least this provides a new replacement option, as poorly made as it may be.

You know even if someone started mass producing the OEM plastics in fiberglass and retained all the tabs and screw holes, it would be amazing. You would be able to paint to your liking and they would be pretty stout I think. I'm just waiting on the right company to make them in CF.

mass production is in the eye of the beholder.
yes a company may sell 100 sets in the next 5 years but is it worth it with all the time setting up the various jigs and patterns? most companies would say no. find an enthusiast who works with FG or CF and you may get a few done.
any company would be hard pressed to sell much more than that, there isn't that many FDs around. or people won't know about it, or won't need it "yet".
making a hood is much simpler, quicker and easier and sell more quantity of versus half a dozen intricate pieces for the same price. be thankful even the chinese took the initiative to put together a kit and sell it, even if it doesn't fit well and the weave is horribly deformed and just requires painting over to look half decent.
i will ask my body guy if he feels up to the task but i'm not making any promises. making a mould of the original parts pretty much destroys them, so you're already starting in a hole.

As I said in an other topic, I can definitely do it. The workshop I am working with already have a LHD kit in carbon fiber but as I don't have a FD at the moment, I can't vouch for the fitment 100%. Looking at the pictures, the kit is not the same as the one I have.
I am thinking that if somebody can be the tester for it, I can give him a very good deal. Upon receiving the set, this person will be able to give a feedback on the forum and tell us if the kit is fitting or not, if not, where to amend the kit.
Also, if the kit must be amended, I would appreciate if this person (or an other one) could send me the OEM interior kit. With all those information and samples, it should not be hard to make it fit 100%.
If anybody is interested, let me know! info@carbonRX7.com
Thanks
Marc

CF Kit
A couple of years ago I purchased a complete CF replacemnt kit from an Ebay member. The pieces were made in Taiwan, the fit is good but the quality of the fastener locations is poor. My experience with these pieces is as long as you do not need to remove them then you are OK. I personally think if someone could reproduce them in a plastic or fiberglass with integrated screw holes etc. That would be the best way to go.

I am installing the Chinese kit now. Definitely takes a lot of Dremel action and patience. I find that about half the pegs line up. On the HVAC panel, they did not make a backing for the mode selector ****, so I am molding that into the piece now. Without it, there is a bright ring of white light around the mode control **** at night.
