Phil, if you think the 8w7s I had were something, you should hear the 12w6v2. IMO (and many other audio magazines), it's the best 12" sub they've ever tested. Sounds 100 times better than the 8w7s IMO. 12w7 is great, but vastly impractical for an FD. The w7s require such a large enclosure space, and vent from around the cone AND from the rear, requiring even more room for mounting. Plus, contrary to popular belief, you can have too much bass. But yea it's def hot. I can't wait to see your sound setup. We're gonna have to go at it
If you think JL makes some of the best subs you might want to check out these companies that put the majority of their budget into R&D instead of advertising.

Massive Audio (DMX)
Resonant Engineering (XXX)
Adire Audio (Brahma)
Digital Designs (9500)

I recently read a article of a blind test compairing the SQ and SPL of the RE XXX 12" and JL 12W7, all listeners picked the XXX...

... Oh and by the way, at this stage of the install it looks very GHETTO! Reminds me of something in the back of an 3rd gen camaro! hehe

Oh I believe you w/o a doubt. SpeedKing always tells me about these no-name (ie not high profile) brands that get RAVE reviews, and I totally believe that they're prob incredible products. I didn't have much choice since I was getting a killer deal from my guy at Tweeter on the setup, and thus only was installing what the carried (for the extended warranty).

On that note, I think Speedking specifically mentioned to me the Digital Designs sub as being incredible...

Im sorry dude but that is unacceptable for your car. Do the box like mine. Get black pleather or blue if u can find it. And for gods sake make the board fit the whole back trunk with no holes in it! And completely wrap the board so you cant see compressed particle board!

Is this purely for show? Because I think 3 JL Audio 10s is gonna be way too much knock.

I had 2 10" DVCs running off or a 220 amp Rockford Fosgate in the back of my 7 for a while and ditched them fast, because they were makin way too much bass, even on the lowest setting, for such a small car.
