Carbon Fiber Interior Pieces
I was doing some searching in google the other day and happend upon this site:
http://www.markkoch.net/carbonFiber/pastProjects.asp
Scroll down, there are FD interior parts mid way down. Looks like you send them your interior pieces and they send them back wrapped in CF. Anybody heard of this place or any another like it? I've seen the kits that just stick on but I don't really like the way they look. I own a '93 FD with the crappy, peeling trim. I guess I could replace the entire set with 94+ but if I'm spending that kind of money I'd rather make it look more than stock.
Thanks,
Aaron

I'm a CF and poop smith
That guy is mkoch1 here on the forums and he sold his fd and is now making a CAN-AM (kinda like a Ultima GTR but convertilbe, its made by the same company, Ultima, and cost the same amount.)
BTW: I don't blame him for selling his car and getting that kit, nothing says fuckingfast like 600+hp commming out of something that weights about 2000lbs or less

I agree that carbon fibre bits look cool on the interior but I have never understood adding fake stuff or overlays to a car.
If the part is taken out and recreated in carbon fibre, sure that is cool, but these parts are usually thin plastic and wouldn't be any lighter in carbon fibre.
Regardless, Lee press on dash pieces don't do a thing for me.

Also, CF does look nice and has a 3D effect when you look at it. To all, their own.

I have had my FD since 1996 and experienced the peeling probably long before many people here.
I just think it is absurd to spend the money on what is most often an image of carbon fibre. Hell, even if it is real carbon fibre on a sticker, that just makes it a more expensive sticker.
It is a fashion accessory. But, like you said, to each their own.

Just for looks
The idea isn't the weight, its the look. Some of this stuff is pretty sharp, might have to drop this guy a line to see what he can do.
If nothing else might keep the sun from attacking certain parts prematurly. Was looking for a blue-ish type of color style to the inside of my FD but not too overpowering, this looks like it is right up the track that I was thinking about.
Some of my interior parts could use a refreshing. Scratches, stupid people getting in with metal buttons and such, almost impossible to keep the plastic inside from getting marked up. This is definetly a cheaper alternative to purchasing new ones and would save me time looking through all the junk yards for used parts in good condition.

The actual url is www.carbonfiberparts.net ,but the above url http://www.markkoch.net/carbonFiber/pastProjects.asp gets you to the same server.
Drop me a line if you are interested in having anything done. I am a little backed up right now and closed for the holidays so I won't be accepting more parts till the middle of jan.
the canam and gtr are made by the same company, the canam just doesn't have a roof. http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/usa/index.html My kit should arrive in the next 2-3 weeks and I can't wait to start building it
