A call to all thoes with sparco torino's
Ok,
Can you guys please post some pics on how you did the custom brackets for the sparco torino? Did any of you use the universal mounting bracket sparco sells, and if so, how did you get it to work with the car?
I've seen some of the How-to's but they dont help too much. I would like to have my car on the road when the seats arrive (if the seats arrive, i still have time to cancel the order if it is too much of a pain to install them)
Any help would be appriciated.

i just got one of my DAD seats put in the guy made spacers to centralize the new seat, then just mounted everything on the original rail/slider. hopefully i can take some pics before the next one goes in which will be like 2 weeks b/c im goign out of town.

Yeah,
I have seen that site. That is my backup plan...i did buy the universal sliders for the seat, so if i can make thoes work, ill do it. If not, no biggie, ill go with jayspec7's method. The seats and brackets come on sat so ill know then.
The reason i dont really want to bodge togther something witht he stock seat rails is safty. If the thing isnt built strongly, ill fly through the windshield.

I used stock bracket/rail and feels like bitch is bolted on the ground
sparco rail/bracket WILL not work without modifying it?? why waste money when you could spend $10 and get it over with

The problem with fitting aftermarket seats to the FD is that the seat belt receiver is integrated into the slider.
I'm in the middle of installing my one piece Sparco Roadsters with the steel side brakets (ala Rob Robinette), but will likely have to do some hacking (at the brackets) to make it fit right.
Would have been done long ago if I was not **** (already hacked apart a Sparco universal mount kit) - and not willing to compromise (much) slider travel, lateral fit (shoulder bolster clearance of the door panel), seat back tilt (remember, one piece seats) and the stock seat belt receiver (not willing to compromise at all).
I'll post pics in my Interior project thread here in the Interior/Ext section later....

Mazdaspeed makes replacement seats and I *think* they bolt in place of the stock seats, but are ugly IMHO and are pricey to boot. Sure there are more solutions available in Japan.

Where did you guys mount your seatbelts? Im talking on the tranny side. Like Dclin said, the belt is intagrated into the seat. Ill check the how-to sites because i think i remember seeing a racing harness install.
I got my sparco's today. and i think ill have at them tonight. any tips and help is welcomed.
Im going to use jayspec7's method. So much for uni. brackets, they aer on backorder for 3 weeks.

I used Jayspec7's writeup to install the sparco seats to my stock sliders. Now, jayspec7 says to take off both adjustment ***** on each side to make it fit. He is correct unless you want to modify the interior panel. I really wanted to have at least one adjustment **** per seat, so I cut my interior pannel so the **** would fit. It looks really cool because the seat slides back into the panel. You will see what I did when you see the pics.
At first i really didn’t want to hack up the panel. I feared it would look like crap. On the exposed parts i filed and sanded the cuts to make it look nice. I was very surprised by the result. It looks like it was made to be this way. With the seat installed, you can not see much of the cut i made. I do have to slide the seat forward to adjust it, but its better then no adjustment at all.
The Sparco harnesses were not a problem. I used the stock seatbelt mounting hole on the outside of the seat. For the inside i used the stock seatbelt reinforcement bar's mounting hole. I have a M2 harness/rear strut bar on its way.
My seats fit perfectly. They don’t even touch the door! All i had to do was adjust the mounting brackets a few times to get it right.
I finished the job in about 6 hours for both seats, with seatbelts. It wasn’t as bad as i expected it to be.
And finally, they are sooo comfortable to sit in. They sit a little higher then the stockers, which inst a problem for me. They also hold you in the seat when taking a corner. I am very satisfied with the seats and highly recommend them.

Yeah as soon as i got them i decided that not having the adjustment **** was not a option, so out the jugsaw came
Yeah i got mine to not touch the door at all. Having the extra space with that panel helped, but the major factor was how the rails were. I fitted them in the car, saw how much room i had to work with, took the seat out and beat the brackets more to the left or the right to get it to fit. My camera died so i couldnt get any good pics of both of em in there and finished. I wil take some tommarro when i get the chance.

Good job! It's that damn stock seatbelt receiver that is the way, and keeps me from being able to push the seat more towards the center of the car (and therefor away from the door panel).
Even though I plan on adding harnesses, I want to keep the stock seatbelt system (with no mods) in case the inspection police wants to give me grief...

Not a single link working anymore. I've had 2 sparco torino seats sitting in my garage for over a year now, i've read about poeple cutting the shaft on the doghouse side, but... hey I paid 700$ per seat, not to cut the darn shaft out.
Anyone has any write ups about the exact brackets or something?
