Question Bose wave help...

do any of you guys know how to put the wave in an R1 {only the rear speakers and tubing, not the door speakers or front dash center speaker} ... can it be wired in/used in conjunction with the R1 rear speakers in the quarter panels? will it work well with the non-Bose tape player? any help very appreciated guys! thanx!

The Bose Speakers run off thier own individual amps. Also Note that the stock 4 ohm head units wont run the Bose 1 and 2 ohm units without a converter. Converters can be purchased at Crutchfield. Also you need to run wires and take the stock weatherpack off the bose sub system and hard wire it. Also note that the stock bose equipted cars had mounting studs in the trunk for the bose wave sub system so it will need to be fastened down some other way now. Also the rear carpet and the hatch cover is different. I am sure someone with a Bose carpet and hatch cover would be happy to trade. Although the bose is a decent sounding system. I happen to own one with an aftermarket head unit. Its outdated, aging and just doesnt give out the sound quality to make your project worth it. Hope I alswered all your questions. Usually the general questions can be found by doing a search as this one is different I was happy to answer your questions.

Carpet Trade

AngeloRx7,

I have a '93 Touring with the rear Bose carpet and hatch cover you need. I am actually converting mine to a [like] R1 model, so if you are interested in a rear carpet/hatch cover swap please let me know.

Question hey MBaltz...{or anyone else who can help!}

do you know about the wires that go to the wave amp? {the amp _IS_ attached to the wave right?} can you tell me where these plug into and where, if not attached, the amp is? also where they lead to and if they work with the R1 wiring....

thanks guys!

BOSE

Hope this helps, I just dismantled a bose wave unit it has two amps with two individual speakers attached to the wave itself, all wiring is in the plug.

The amp uses two wires for power (no turn on wire) two wires per amp for each channel (L- ,L+ and R-,R+).

The system looks like it needs a powered feed (not line level) which should work well off your powered output.

Sorry i don't have the color codes or anything but if you look at all the wires you should be able to eliminate the power wires (red and Black) the rest are the inputs.

Angelo, Angelo,

I told you to take the entire wiring harness but no, you refused. See what happens?
