Bose System Quandary
Ok....I've got a '93, mostly stock RX7 in beautiful condition and a Bose CD Player problem....
The Player won't skip tracks properly and some CD's won't play at all. The system itself works fine...speakers, etc. are in good shape.
Is it a small problem? Do I need to replace the Player? and If so, am I better off upgrading the entire system?
I would appreciate any suggestions or recommondations for a new system.

you might just need to have the lazers and such cleaned. go to a audio store (circuit city or best buy might even be good enough) and see what they think about it. chances are, being 11 years old, the players never been cleaned and this can cause those kinds of problems.

When I opened mine up, the gears were no longer lubricated. You could see the eye struggling to move into position. I lubed it up and worked fine.......for a while. I guess I didn't use the right lube.
Anyways, I ended up changing the entire headunit, but there ARE specialy places on the web that fix Bose headunits. Someone locally might even be able to do it, too.
