Basslink or Alpine Type R
Ok I am trying to decide which sub to get for my FD.
I like the bassling because it is small and practicle, but the integrated amp is only good to about 200watts @ 2 ohms.
My other option is a Alpine Type R with a 350 watt d class amp I already have @ 4 ohms.
I know the alpine will sound better, but it is also more expensive. I am wondering if it is worth the difference in price of about $100.

I have a Basslink. It sounds good and is a spacesaver. My friend has two Alpine Type Rs in his Durango and they are very very loud. He is only giving them like 350RMS total, and they are a bit underpowered. 350 RMS with one Type-R will sound very good and much louder than the Basslink. I bought my Basslink for $154, so you really can't beat that.

My friend has a Basslink in his Celica, and I hate it. It gives the crappiest low bass... when compared to my Alpine Type R. I have a 12", and it's max 400some watts, peak is 1000 or 1500 i believe. I have a MTX Thunder amp (500 or 800 watt) i believe (yea...it's been so long i cant remember). and MAN...the deep crisp bass i get...it's simply incredible
and it's def. not LOUD. i dunno why on earth you'd get a sub to be loud. you want loud, get loud speakers. I got the sub for those low deep vibrating tones. oooh....beautiful hehe
oh and on that note...if your sub is loud, it's prob too loose (ie it's not set for deep bass...which requires it tight. loud = the woofer is loose, slamming back and forth, which is a great way to blow it quick...)

Ok so I ahve been working on the sound staging in my car, and I am trying to mount a sub facing the seats in the hatch area, I think this is going to force me to go witha a single 8".
Anyone have a sugestion on what sub to get, I am thinking maybe a Boston Pro.
