Exclamation body kits CArbon Fiber or no

ok so i found a great carbon fiber body kit that i was gonna buy http://www.carexcess.com/bodykits/rx7.html teh second one down the white one the thing is that it cost 3 grand which isnt a problem the thing is that i found the same exact thing but its not carbon fiber its some other meterial its 1500. Should i go for the carbon fiber and pay more for less weight or just get the cheaper one?

Neither. Also, the kit in the link is not carbon fiber.

it looks to me that all the kits are fiberglass the only parts that are carbonfiber is the rear wing. the kits you are looking at are made by veilside. Veilside dose not have too good of a reputation on this forum and personally i hate how that look. if you really like the look its your car. i would also suggest looking at the classified section of this forum because veilside kits sell for less then $500 here for the whole kit so you can save yourself a lot of money. honostly i would get the cheaper fiberglass version because having just a CF front sideskirts and rear bumper looks outta place.

Yeah, try to stay away from veilside. Not much love for it here. There are alot more kits out for the 7 that look a whole lot better, but if you really like it, then go ahead with it.

But just to let you know, i dont think veilside makes any actual carbon fiber body kits, just the wings.

I produced the Carbon Fibre parts for Mazda Australia for the RX7-SP.
I still produce these parts.
The parts in the kit I supplied Mazda,

Front nose cone
under tray support
brake duct pair

Air Box
Air Box Duct pair

Air box to Turbo Hoses (pair)

Intercooler Ducting (2 parts)

Air pump muffler

Fuel Tank (120 ltr)

Rear Wing

All these parts are made from Carbon Fibre. (there is no fibreglass in them, like some copied parts)

yes Carbon Fibre fuel tank.

These were fitted to all the RX7-SP road cars. We made a race version that had ball valves and baffles to stop fuel surge during racing. I still build these, I am in the process of building a race tank to get used in this years Bathurst 24 hour race.

There isn't a lot of documentation on these parts, I think at most I've seen the airbox, front bumper and rear wing, do you have photos of everything?

Yes, but I will have to scan them as they were taken years ago, I am making some parts at the moment so I might just take some digitals as they get finished.

Perhaps you should just get your daddy to buy you a different car that actually fits what you want/can handle. You've just named off half of the ways to destroy what this car was made for, and you havn't even touched it yet.

One post you're not doing any racing, another you want 340hp to win a race. All this before ever getting a liscense!

If you are looking for carbon fiber body kits for the 7, you could check out www.carbon-creations.com . I am sure you have seen their sponsored car before, anyway all their stuff is made out of carbon fiber. I believe their front bumper is a c-west knockoff made out of carbon fiber.
